An electrical connector adapted for mounting on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB), comprises an insulative housing, a plurality of terminals loaded in the insulative housing and a board lock device assembled in the insulative housing. The insulative housing comprises a base portion having a PCB mounting face and a mating portion extending from the base portion. The base portion defines a boardlock-receiving cavity and is formed with a block adjacent to the cavity. The board lock device comprises a retaining plate retained in the cavity and substantially parallel to the PCB mounting face of the base portion and a lock plate perpendicularly extending from the retaining plate beyond the PCB mounting face of the base portion for locking with the PCB. The retaining plate is supported by the block for preventing the board lock device from moving along a direction perpendicular to the PCB mounting face of the base portion.

An electrical connector () includes a dielectric housing (), a number of terminals () received in the dielectric housing and a pair of shielding plates attached to outer faces of the side walls. The dielectric housing includes a mating face, a pair of side walls extending from the mating face and a mating space in the mating face between the side walls. Each side wall includes a pair of protrusions and a recess in the outer face thereof. Each terminal includes a contact portion exposed to the mating space. Each shielding plate is formed with a retention blade engaging with the pair of protrusions and a spring tang received in the recess for preventing the shielding plate from moving away from the mating face.

An electrical connector () includes an elongate insulative housing (), a number of contacts (), and a shell (). The insulative housing has a bottom wall () and two side walls () extending upwardly from the bottom wall. The contacts include signal contacts () and grounding contacts (). The shell is assembled to exterior surfaces of the side walls and comprises a plurality of grounding fingers () and a pair of cut portions (). An electrical connector includes a dielectric housing defining a mating space with a pair of two opposite side wall by two sides thereof, a plurality of passageways formed in an inner face of each of the side walls, a number of signal and grounding terminals received in corresponding passageways, respectively, a shielding member attached to the side walls and a grounding member. Each grounding member includes an intermediate portion and three spaced beams extending from a side of the intermediate portion along a same direction. A middle one of the three beams is snugly retained in corresponding channel. The other two beams electrically and mechanically press the grounding terminal and the shield plate against the side wall, respectively.
