A connector is provided for tensioning a guy line and connecting the guy line to a ground anchor or a tower. The connector may include a first body and a second body connected together by two or more threaded rods. The first body is connected to the ground anchor or the tower. The second body has a tapered cavity extending therethrough. The guy line extends through the tapered cavity, and wedges with a first and second inner arcuate surface that are vertically offset from one another are pushed into the tapered cavity. The first arcuate inner surface and the second arcuate inner surface may grip the guy line after the wedges have been pushed into the tapered cavity, while the vertical offsetting of the second arcuate inner surface reduces that stress on the guy line at an end of wedges. The first and second bodies may be drawn toward each other to tension the guy line.

Adjustable transmission guy line connector

The present disclosure provides a fitting for a power transmission system. The fitting may include a first end configured to couple to an end of an insulator, a second end configured to couple to a power line, a collar located between the first end and the second end, and a neck located between the collar and the first end. An outer diameter of the collar may be greater than an outer diameter of the neck. A power transmission system with a fitting and corona ring assembly is also provided.

Fitting with a collar for a power transmission system

A piling is provided with a pipe provided with a generally cylindrical shape, a first end, and a second end. A first end fitting is located at the first end of the pipe and a second end fitting is located at the second end of the pipe. The first end fitting is provided with an out-of-round shape that transmits torque and is dimensioned so that at least a portion fits within the second end fitting, and the second end fitting is provided with an out-of-round shape that transmits torque with at least a portion that fits about a portion of the first end fitting.

Piling apparatus

Embodiments disclosed herein provide a connector and a method of using a connector. A connector for joining a cable with an anchor comprises a first end, a second end and a spacer extending between the first end and the second end. An opening is disposed at the first end. The opening has a configuration that mirrors a configuration of the anchor. A guying portion for joining the cable to the connector is disposed at the second end. An extension is disposed adjacent the spacer for facilitating juncture of the cable and the connector. In a method, the anchor is applied to a support surface and the first end and the anchor are joined. A tool that moves the cable in proximity to the guying portion is connected with the extension. The tool is activated to bring the cable closer to the guying portion. A portion of the cable is inserted into the guying portion for joining the cable to the connector. A further connector comprises a first end and a second end. A guying portion for joining a cable to the connector is disposed at the second end. An extension is disposed substantially between the first end and the second end for facilitating juncture of the cable and the connector. In each embodiments the connector is a single, unitary piece.

Connector and methods of using a connector

The present invention relates to a coupler stem assembly including a coupler and a stem, the coupler includes a polymer material that has been molded to a predetermined shape, an outer surface that is threaded and provided with a coupler axis, and an inner surface that defines a cavity and that includes a retaining member, the stem includes an outer stem surface that is provided with a stem axis and that is shaped to fit within the cavity defined by the inner surface of the coupler; and a retaining surface that is located on the outer stem surface and shaped to cooperate with the retaining member of the inner surface of the coupler.

Coupler stem assembly

An improved crossarm support bracket for preventing excessive bending and breakage at the midsection of crossarms caused by conventional horizontal brackets and supporting heavier crossarms. The improvement comprises a base portion for attaching the bracket to a utility pole, a pair of spaced apart flanges for supporting a crossarm, and a pair of arcuate mounting seats providing contact surfaces with outer edges of the crossarm to minimize deformation of the crossarm. By assuming a bowed position along the curvature of the seats, the arcuate shaped seats eliminate point pressure exerted by outer ends of conventional horizontal brackets which act as wedges against a crossarm receiving the combined weight of the distal ends of the crossarm. Mounting seats further minimize deformation of the crossarm by contacting the crossarm at its outer edge rather than the entire surface area.

Utility bracket

An improved apparatus for deconcentrating an electric field, surrounding a high voltage insulator. A clamp assembly centrally formed within a coronal ring permitting positive placement of the coronal ring about an insulator end fitting. The clamping assembly includes an integral clamp with a U-shaped opening for engaging a cylindrical portion of an insulator end fitting. Two keeper clamps are pivotally mounted superjacent to the integral clamp, each keeper clamp having a smaller U-shaped opening both of which engage a portion of the insulator end fitting and pivot toward each other between an insulator receiving position and an insulator securing position, securing the insulator between the integral clamp and the two keeper clamps. A captive fastener such as a bolt extends upwardly through the clamp and the keeper clamps to secure the keeper clamps in position against the insulator end fitting and the integral clamp to secure the corona ring in position relative the insulator end fitting. The varied sized openings of the integral clamp and keeper clamps prevent inverted installation of the corona ring.

Apparatus for preventing coronal discharge

An improved apparatus for deconcentrating an electric field surrounding a high voltage insulator. A clamp assembly centrally formed within a coronal ring permits positive placement of the coronal ring about an insulator end fitting. The clamping assembly comprises an integral clamp with a u-shaped opening for engaging a cylindrical portion of an insulator end fitting. A keeper clamp mounts superjacent to the integral clamp and a smaller second u-shaped opening engages a portion of the insulator end fitting having a smaller diameter. A captive fastener such as a bolt extends upwardly through the clamp and keeper clamp to secure the keeper clamp in position against the insulator end fitting and the integral clamp to secure the corona ring in position relative the insulator end fitting and sheds. The varied sized openings of the clamp and keeper clamp prevent inverted installation of the corona ring.

An auxiliary cable mounting attachment is disclosed which allows mounting a third communication cable at a position displaced from superjacent power lines and existing communication cables. The attachment clamps to an existing support bar without modification thereto and extends outwardly therefrom to support a clamp engagement for the auxiliary cable.
