Aspects of the disclosure relate to methods, apparatus, and systems for mitigating signal attenuation at a body-worn device transmitting a radio signal. An antenna structure for the body-worn device includes an antenna array configured to radiate at least one radio signal and a conductive band capacitively coupled to the antenna array. The conductive band is configured to detachably couple to a body of a user, and mitigate attenuation of the at least one radio signal when the conductive band is coupled to the body. The conductive band mitigates the attenuation by facilitating a radio frequency (RF) signal current corresponding to the at least one radio signal to flow through the conductive band and preventing absorption of the RF signal current by the body.

An interactive way-finder system includes an interactive way-finder device having device communications circuitry and a display that displays one or more hands pointing in the direction of a destination based on proximity information received from communications circuitry of a destination. The destination is represented on the display as a displayed destination and may be an attraction, a restaurant, an amusement park exit, restrooms, or the like. The destination may be selected based on user input, on location of the interactive way-finder system in the amusement park, or based on a user profile. The communication between the interactive way-finder device and the destination may enable special effects at the destination, onboard effects on the interactive way-finder device, or both. The interactive way-finder device may be capable of operating in several different modes.

Interactive way-finder

An entertainment system includes a first storage area and a second storage area. Further, the system includes a first communicator and a second communicator each configured to read information from an interactive object, wherein the first communicator is configured to monitor the first storage area and the second communicator is configured to monitor the second storage area. A controller of the system includes a processor and a memory. The controller is configured to receive data from the communicators and query a database to determine one or more profiles associated with the data, determine a special effect associated with a first profile and a special effect associated with a second profile, and provide a command to present the first special effect at a first location based on the first storage area and provide a command to present the second special effect at a second location based on the second storage area.

System and method for integrating interactive objects and attraction experiences

A wireless power system includes a control system configured to output radio waves to an environment and a wearable device having an energy harvesting device configured to receive the radio waves and to harvest energy from the received radio waves. The wearable device also includes a processor and a sensor configured to detect a state of the wearable device and output a state signal to the processor. The processor is configured to output a device control signal based on the detected state signal. The wearable device further includes a communicator configured to receive the device control signal from the processor and to provide an output to the control system based on the state of the wearable device. At least the processor, the sensor, or the communicator receive power via the energy harvested by the energy harvesting device.

Systems and methods for a wirelessly powered interactive guest device

An interaction point includes a hardware-based processor, a local cache data store that stores attraction data pertaining to an entertainment attraction, and a radio-frequency identification (RFID) reader that receives electromagnetic radiation of a wearable electronic device indicative of an interaction with the interaction point. The hardware-based processor, based upon the interaction with the interaction point: causes feedback to be rendered by the wearable electronic device, causes modification to at least a portion of the attraction data, or both.

A crowd management system includes at least one local controller associated with an attraction area of an individual attraction within a theme park. The crowd management system includes a transceiver of the at least one local controller, where the transceiver receives guests data via wireless signals from guest-associated devices within a detection range of the local controller. The crowd management system includes a remote central controller in communication with the at least one local controller and the guest-associated device. The remote central controller receives the guest data from the at least one local controller and determines one or more crowd metrics of the individual attraction based on the guest data. The remote central controller generates an activity command based on the one or more crowd metrics. The remote central controller transmits the activity command to at least one guest-associated device of the guest-associated devices.

System and method for crowd management and maintenance operations

An interactive object system includes an interactive object and a source of electromagnetic radiation, e.g., an external source. A power harvesting device of the interactive object receives and harvests power from the electromagnetic radiation to power a special effect system of the interactive object. In an embodiment, the interactive object includes a retroreflective material that reflects electromagnetic radiation, which may be of a same or different wavelength as the electromagnetic radiation from which power is harvested. The interactive object system detects the reflected electromagnetic radiation, which may be used to trigger one or more additional actions related to the interactive object.

A wearable device includes a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag having a memory that stores identification information. The wearable device also has a power harvesting circuit configured to harness power from electromagnetic radiation. Further, the wearable device has a sensor coupled to the power harvesting circuit and configured to utilize the power to monitor a condition of the wearable device. Even further, the wearable device has a microcontroller coupled to the sensor and configured to write data indicative of the condition to the memory of the RFID tag, wherein the RFID tag is configured to transmit the identification information and the data in response to receipt of the electromagnetic radiation from an RFID reader.

An attraction system for entertaining guests includes a millimeter wave (mmWave) sensor configured to transmit a signal within the attraction system and to receive a reflection of the signal and a control system communicatively coupled to the mmWave sensor. The mmWave sensor is configured to transmit data to the control system based on the reflection of the signal, and the control system is configured to perform operations that include determining a target operation of the attraction system based on the data received from the mmWave sensor and operating the attraction system based on the target operation.

Systems and methods for adjusting an operation of an attraction system

Systems and methods are disclosed that provide contextual tracking information to tracking sensor systems to provide accurate and efficient object tracking. Contextual data of a first tracking sensor system is used to identify a tracked object of a second tracking sensor system.
