An encoder may obtain a first motion vector (MV) associated with a video block obtained from the video. The encoder may obtain a first prediction signal of the video block using the first MV. The encoder may identify a target MV by applying a gradient-based motion refinement algorithm in a recursive manner using the first prediction signal and the first MV. The encoder may obtain a second prediction signal of the video block based on the target MV.

An electronic apparatus performs a method of decoding video data. The method includes: receiving, from the video data, an Adaptation Parameter Set (APS) identifier associated with a number of previously used Cross-Component Sample Adaptive Offset (CCSAO) filter offset sets stored in APS; receiving, from the video data, a syntax in Picture Header (PH) or Slice Header (SH) that indicates the APS identifier used for a current picture or slice; decoding, for the current coding tree unit (CTU), a filter set index that indicates a particular previously used CCSAO filter offset set of the number of offset sets in the APS associated with the APS identifier; and applying the particular previously used CCSAO filter offset set to the current CTU of the video data.

Methods and apparatus for prediction refinement for decoder side motion vector refinement with optical flow

Methods, apparatuses, and non-transitory computer-readable storage mediums are provided for video coding with a low-delay transform skip residual coding (TSRC) method. The TSRC method includes: deriving, by an encoder, a rice parameter based on coded information of a current slice of a video. The coded information may include one or more of following parameters: a quantization parameter or a coding bit-depth associated with a slice, a picture, or a sequence of the video; or a hash ratio associated with the slice, the picture, or the sequence of the video.

A method for video encoding is provided. The method includes: partitioning a frame of video data into a plurality of blocks; obtaining a current prediction of a current block of the plurality of blocks using one or more motion vectors of the current block; obtaining one or more collocated predictions of the current block using one or more motion vectors of one or more neighbor blocks of the current block in respective one or more blending areas, where each of the one or more blending areas is at least part of the current block and adjustable based at least on the partitioning; and obtaining a combined prediction of the current block by combing the current prediction with the one or more collocated predictions.

Overlapped block motion compensation for inter prediction

Embodiments of the disclosure provide systems and methods for applying neural network based sample adaptive offset (SAO) for video coding. The method may include classifying reconstructed samples of a reconstructed block into a set of categories based on neural network based in-loop filtering (NNLF). The reconstructed block includes a reconstructed version of a video block of a video frame from a video. The method may further include determining a set of offsets for the set of categories based on the classification of the reconstructed samples. The method may additionally include, responsive to the NNLF being performed on the reconstructed block, performing SAO filtering on the NNLF filtered samples based on the set of offsets. The NNLF filtered samples are generated from the reconstructed samples using the NNLF.

System and method for applying neural network based sample adaptive offset for video coding

Layer 2 structures and procedures may be used for beam management in new radio networks. In a first example, a new radio layer 2 structure may be used to facilitate beam management at the medium access control sublayer. In a second example, new radio feedback mechanisms may be signaled between peer medium access control entities and used to assist with beam management. In a third example, new radio beam management procedures may include new radio beam training, new radio beam alignment, new radio beam tracking, or new radio beam configuration. In a fourth example, new radio connection control procedure may include new radio initial access or new radio mobility management.

Beam management

Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for sub-block/block refinement, including sub-block/block boundary refinement, such as block boundary prediction refinement with optical flow (BBPROF). A block comprising a current sub-block may be decoded based on a sample value for a first pixel that is obtained based on, for example, an MV for a current sub-block, an MV for a sub-block adjacent the current sub-block, and a sample value for a second pixel adjacent the first pixel. BBPROF may include determining spatial gradients at pixel(s)/sample location(s). An MV difference may be calculated between a current sub-block and one or more neighboring sub-blocks. An MV offset may be determined at pixel(s)/sample location(s) based on the MV difference. A sample value offset for the pixel in a current sub-block may be determined. The prediction for a reference picture list may be refined by adding the calculated sample value offset to the sub-block prediction.

Block boundary prediction refinement with optical flow

Methods and apparatuses for video coding are provided. The method includes that a decoder determines whether a disable flag is present in a picture header (PH) associated with a picture, wherein the disable flag specifies whether a coding tool is disabled in one or more slices associated with the PH. Additionally, the method includes that the decoder infers value of the disable flag according to one or more enable flags signaled in a sequence parameter set (SPS) of the picture in response to determining that the disable flag is not present in the PH, inferring, by the decoder.

Mechanisms for efficient access and transmission in NR

Systems and methods are described for video coding using affine motion prediction. In an example method, motion vector gradients are determined from respective motion vectors of a plurality of neighboring sub-blocks neighboring a current block. An estimate of at least one affine parameter for the current block is determined based on the motion vector gradients. An affine motion model is determined based at least in part on the estimated affine parameter(s), and a prediction of the current block is generated using the affine motion model. The estimated parameter(s) may be used in the affine motion model itself. Alternatively, the estimated parameter(s) may be used in a prediction of the affine motion model. In some embodiments, only neighboring sub-blocks above and/or to the left of the current block are used in estimating the affine parameter(s).
