A modular jack () is adapted for mounting on a printed circuit board () and has a housing () and a plurality of terminals () received in the housing. The housing includes a main body (), an insert module (), and a presser (). The main body defines a cavity (), a pair of grooves (), and a pair of slots (). The main body includes a pair of side walls (). A pair of engaging ribs () outwardly project from each side wall and parallel to each other, thereby forming a mounting channel () for engaging the printed circuit board between the engaging ribs. As a result, the modular jack is mounted on the printed circuit board. The insert module has a pair of lead sections () slidably received in the grooves and a pair of guide sections (). The presser has a pair of channels () slidably receiving the guide sections of the insert module and a pair of latches () reliably engaging with the slots of the main body. The presser further has a pair of blocks () abutting against bottom edges of the guide sections.

An electrical connector () includes an insulative housing () having front and rear faces (). A first and a second receiving rooms (), which communicate with each other are defined in the insulative housing () and extend forwardly from the rear face (). A third receiving room () is defined in the insulative housing () and extends forwardly from the rear face () as well. A retaining cavity () is in communication with the third receiving room (). A resilient contact () is received in the first receiving room () and comprises a first contacting portion and a first connecting portion () beyond the rear face (). A central contact () comprises a plate portion () received in the third receiving room (), a fork-type contacting portion () extending forwardly from the plate portion () and a third connecting portion (). The plate portion () has a retention member () for engagement with the retaining cavity ().

An electrical connector () includes an insulative housing () having a rectangular mating portion (). The mating portion has a receptacle () and an island () projecting from a middle of the receptacle. The receptacle has a generally rectangular cross-section defining opposite first and second sides running longitudinally along the housing. The receptacle has a pair of flattened corners () on the second side thereof so that the receptacle is in fact a polarizing hexagonal receptacle for allowing a complementary connector to insert therein only in a given orientation.
