A dispersion includes a zinc oxide component, and an aromatic polyol which is represented by Formula (I) and which has terminal hydroxyl groups that form chelating bonds with zinc atoms of the zinc oxide component, wherein p and q are independently integers ranging from 1 to 40. A method for preparing the dispersion includes heating a composition including the aromatic polyol and a zinc-containing salt, so that the zinc-containing salt undergoes nucleophilic reaction and condensation reaction to form the zinc oxide component. A composition for preparing the dispersion is also disclosed.

A textile with conductive structures includes a fabric substrate, an outer conductive structure made of polymer and disposed on the fabric substrate, and an inner conductive structure disposed under the outer conductive structure and electrically connected to the outer conductive structure. The sheet resistance of the inner conductive structure is lower than the sheet resistance of the outer conductive structure. The total sheet resistance of the inner and outer conductive structures is less than 100 ohms per square when the textile undergoes a laundery procedure.

An electrical connection structure is provided in the present invention, which includes a substrate, a plurality of conductive textile layers disposed apart on the substrate, an electrical connection layer disposed on the conductive textile layers, a plurality conductive parts disposed on the electrical connection layer corresponding to the conductive textile layers respectively, an adhesive layer, and a protective layer, wherein the electrical connection layer provides the electrical connection between the conductive textile layers and the conductive parts corresponding to the conductive textile layers, and the conductive textile layers disposed apart from each other are not electrically connected.

The wearable action-aware device includes a clothing body, a signal receiving and computing element, and a conductive line made of conductive fabric. Two ends of the conductive line are electrically connected to the signal receiving and computing element, respectively, to form a circuit, and both the signal receiving and computing element and the conductive line are disposed on the clothing body. An exposed side of the conductive line has electrical conductivity, and the circuit is disposed on a part of the clothing body corresponding to a part of a body that needs to be measured. A method of making a phase difference film includes: (a) providing a substrate having a first surface provided with a light-shielding layer and a second surface provided with an orientable layer; (b) providing a first linear polarized UV light to irradiate the orientable layer and providing a second linear polarized UV light to irradiate the orientable layer so as to form the orientable layer into an alignment layer having first and second regions that are photo-oriented in two different orientation directions, respectively; and (c) coating a liquid crystal material on the alignment layer and curing the liquid crystal material.

A method for making a retarder includes: (a) forming a photocurable layer on a substrate, the photocurable layer including at least one photocurable prepolymer that has a plurality of reactive functional groups and a functional group equivalent weight ranging from 70 to 700 g/mol; (b) covering partially the photocurable layer using a patterned mask; (c) exposing the photocurable layer through the patterned mask; (d) removing the patterned mask; (e) exposing the photocurable layer to cure second regions of the photocurable layer so as to form a microstructure; (f) forming an alignment layer on the microstructure; (g) forming a liquid crystal layer on the alignment layer; and (h) curing the liquid crystal layer.

Method for making a retarder

The present invention pertains to a transparent conductive film including a conductive layer having different thicknesses so as to increase the optical transmittance while maintaining the conductivity of the transparent conductive film. The present invention also pertains to a process for the preparation of the above-mentioned transparent conductive film.

A method for forming a microstructure includes: (a) forming a photocurable layer on a substrate, the photocurable layer including at least one photocurable compound that has a photocurable functional group equivalent weight ranging from 70 to 700 g/mol; (b) covering partially the photocurable layer using a patterned mask; (c) exposing the photocurable layer through the patterned mask using a first light source so that the photocurable layer is cured at first regions which are exposed; (d) removing the patterned mask; and (e) illuminating the photocurable layer using a second light source to cure second regions of the photocurable layer which have not been cured. The first and second regions have different surface heights and provide a surface roughness for the microstructure.

Method for forming a microstructure

A method of preparing a composite optical retarder is provided. A first and a second liquid crystal coating materials are respectively disposed on opposite surfaces of a photoalignment film to respectively form a first and a second optical retarders. The composite optical retarder having the photoalignment film sandwiched by the first and the second optical retarders is thus obtained.

A method for making a polarizer-and-compensator assembly includes: (a) forming an alignment film on a releasable substrate; (b) forming a liquid crystal film on the alignment film so as to form a compensator layer on the releasable substrate; and (c) transferring the compensator layer from the releasable substrate to a polarizer plate by removing the releasable substrate from the compensator layer and attaching the alignment film to the polarizer plate.
