According to examples, an apparatus may include a processor and a memory on which are stored computer-readable instructions that, when executed by the processor, may cause the processor to receive a first sheet count before execution of a print job, receive a second sheet count after execution of the print job, and determine a number of sheets printed for the print job based on the first sheet count and the second sheet count. The processor may update a pick mechanism activation counter value based on the determined number of printed sheets. Based on a determination that the updated pick mechanism activation counter value is greater than or equal to a predetermined threshold value, the processor may cause a pick mechanism to be actuated to sense a media stack height of print media.

An apparatus () with moveable platen ribs (), is described. The apparatus comprises a platen () for supporting print media (). The platen extends in a plane in which the print media is conveyed to be printed. The apparatus further includes a first set of platen ribs () and a second set of platen ribs () each mounted on the platen. The second set of platen ribs are moveable approximately perpendicular to the plane.

A method for fluid-density modulated auto-duplexing is disclosed. This method determines when a final swath of a printing operation on a surface of a media occurs within a predefined distal end portion of the media. An estimated media dry time after the final swath in the predefined distal end portion is determined to be greater than a predetermined time. The estimated dry time is capped to a predetermined minimum media dry time and a course of action for a feed mechanism is selected to reduce curling and cockling of the media. Furthermore, a non-transitory computer readable medium and a printer having fluid-density modulated auto-duplexing are also disclosed.
