The present disclosure relates to a protective coating composition for a hard surface, wherein the composition comprises an organic solvent and a polysiloxane having the general formula (I), wherein: R, R, R, R, R, R, Rand Rare independently an alkyl group having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms; Y and Z are independently a divalent linking group selected from the group consisting of urea, urethane, oxygen atom, sulfur atom and alkylene having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms; A, B, L and M are independently a divalent slinking group selected from the group consisting of alkylene having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, with the proviso that if the combined linking groups formed by -A-Y-L- and -M-Z—B— are independently an alkylene, then the alkylene is independently different from ethylene; n is an integer from 5 to 1500; and m and p are independently an integer from 1 to 3. In another aspect, the present disclosure is directed to a method of reducing contamination from a hard surface.

Polysiloxane-based protective coating composition for hard surfaces

A method is disclosed that includes contacting a hydrocarbon-bearing formation with a treatment composition comprising solvent and a fluorinated polymer. The fluorinated polymer includes: a first divalent unit represented by formula (I): wherein Rf represents a fluoroalkyl group having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms; each Ris independently hydrogen or methyl; Q is a bond or &#x2014;SO&#x2014;N(R)&#x2014;, wherein R is alkyl having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and m is an integer from 1 to 11, a second divalent unit comprising a poly(alkyleneoxy) group; and a third divalent unit comprising a pendant ionic group. The solvent includes not more than ten percent by weight methanol and not more than 25 percent by weight water, based on the total weight of the solvent, and/or the solvent solubilizes or displaces brine in the hydrocarbon-bearing formation. Treated hydrocarbon-bearing formations are also disclosed.

Method for easy-to-clean substrates and articles therefrom

The present application is directed to an article comprising a dusty surface and a coating on the dusty surface comprising a coating polymer having a Tg less &#x2212;20&#xb0; C. and a method of reducing dust. In some embodiments, the polymer has a Tg less than &#x2212;30&#xb0; C., and in specific embodiments, the polymer has a Tg less than &#x2212;45&#xb0; C. The dusty surface may be, for example, crushed stone, coal, iron ore, gravel, sand or other aggregates (e.g. a roofing granule,) or a soil surface. Generally, the coating polymer comprises a polyacrylate, polyurethane, synthetic and natural rubber, silicone and other organic polymers. Water-and oil-repellency imparting urethane oligomers comprising perfluoroalkyl moieties

The present invention provides a water-soluble and shelf-stable aqueous fluorochemical polymeric treatment useful to treat porous substrates to render them repellent to water- and oil-based stains. The treatment comprises a water-soluble or dispersible fluorochemical polymer containing only carbon atoms in the backbone, with a plurality of each of the following groups pendant from the backbone: (a) fluoroaliphatic groups, (b) carboxyl-containing groups, (c) silyl groups and optionally (d) other non-hydrophilic groups. Because the water-soluble polymeric treatment, and the shelf-stable aqueous solutions thereof, can be applied to porous substrates in aqueous solution, they eliminate the need for environmentally harmful and toxic co-solvents.
