A device for lifting multiple containers, such as beverage bottles from a carton, which allows for quick and easy loading of refrigerated cooler racks. The cooler racks are devised to cooperatively engage guides on the lifting device so the bottles can be transferred from the lifting device to the racks by the influence of gravity. The method of cooler rack loading allows a worker to efficiently unload beverage cartons and load cooler racks at 4 to 5 times the usual speed with less loss and damage over conventional manual loading methods. The lifting device includes a pair of pivotable, elongated gates which engage the necks of the beverage bottles during lifting and transferring to the cooler racks.

Container lifting device, rack and method

A grip is provided for grasping beverage cans for use in loading vending machines or the like. The can grip preferably grasps four cans at a time and a spring-loaded plunger ejects the cans therefrom when released. The method of employing the can grip provides for efficient stocking of vending machines and can reduce a serviceman's time by approximately sixty-five to seventy-five percent (65-75%) over usual hand loading.

An improved motorcycle suspension system comprising a substantially straight torsion bar having a first end and a second end; a rear wheel axle support attached rotatably and pivotally to the motorcycle frame; means for holding the first end of the torsion bar fixed to prevent rotation thereof; a multiplying linkage for reversibly converting a substantially vertical motion of the rear wheel axle support caused by irregularities in the surface over which the motorcycle is ridden into a torque applied to the second end of the torsion bar causing the torsion bar to provide a progressively larger opposing torque in reaction to the applied torque and requiring progressively more force to apply an equivalent torque to the torsion bar for progressively larger upward misplacements thus damping the motions of the rear wheel axle support. A tension winder is attached to the torsion bar adjacent to the first end of the torsion bar to provide a means for adjustably twisting the torsion bar controlling thereby the damping of the motions of the rear wheel axle support.
