An LED lighting fixture including a housing comprising a single-piece wall structure defining a cavity with an LED-supporting surface therewithin. An LED illuminator is mounted at the LED-supporting surface in the cavity, the LED-supporting surface positioning the LED illuminator in a desired orientation. An LED driver may be secured against the housing which transfers heat therefrom. There may be a plurality of spaced apart LED illuminators mounted at the LED-supporting surface within the cavity. The LED lighting fixture may also include a single-piece reflector comprising a plurality of reflector cups for the LED illuminators and extending therefrom to a common forward end of the housing.

LED lighting fixture

A light fixture comprising a chamber, at least one power-circuitry driver within the chamber, at least one LED module outside the chamber, and at least one air gap between the chamber and the at least one LED module, the air gap permitting air/water-flow therethrough. The chamber is defined by a housing. The at least one LED module is on an LED heat sink outside the chamber. The housing defines the air gap permitting air/water-flow to and from the heat sink.

An LED lighting fixture including a one-piece housing portion having a hollow interior cavity defined by a substantially planar interior backwall surface and a surrounding wall extending therefrom to a forward edge. An LED illuminator is on the substantially planar interior backwall surface, a backwall being a heat sink for transferring heat away from the LED illuminator during operation. A one-piece reflector member extends forwardly from the backwall interior surface and substantially across the housing portion to the surrounding wall. The reflector member has a reflector cup and an outward flange secured with respect to the surrounding wall at the forward edge thereof. The reflector cup defines an aperture configured and positioned such that the LED illuminator is exposed therethrough.

An LED lighting fixture including a housing having a hollow interior cavity defined by a backwall and a surrounding wall extending therefrom to a forward edge. An LED illuminator is mounted in the housing. An LED-support structure extends in the interior cavity from the housing to an LED-supporting surface positioning the LED illuminator in a desired orientation and spaced from the backwall. The LED-support structure is a heat sink transferring heat from the LED illuminator to the housing.

An LED lighting fixture comprising (a) a front-housing portion having a surrounding lateral wall defining a front cavity and extending to a front-housing forward edge at an open front-end, (b) a rear-housing portion having a backwall and a surrounding wall which define a rear cavity, the surrounding wall extending to a rear-housing forward edge, the rear-housing portion joined to the front-housing portion with the rear-housing surrounding wall substantially in alignment with the front-housing surrounding wall, (c) a cross-member secured with respect to the housing portions in a position at the juncture thereof and spanning the interior of the joined housing portions, the cross-member having a front surface facing the front cavity, and (d) an LED illuminator secured to the front surface of the cross-member.

A low-voltage LED lighting system, LED lighting fixtures, and a method for installation thereof in which the system includes: (a) at least one LED lighting fixture each having one or more LEDs; (b) at least one remotely-located power driver; and (c) interconnections between the at least one LED fixture and the at least one driver using communication network cabling and standard 8P8C network connectors. Preferred lighting fixtures are recessed lighting fixtures adapted for ceiling mounting.

Flexible LED lighting systems, fixtures and method of installation

An LED lighting fixture including a housing and an LED assembly secured with respect to the housing to permit air/water-flow over the LED assembly. The LED assembly includes (a) an LED heat sink having an LED-engaging surface and a heat-transfer surface and (b) an LED-array at the heat-transfer surface. The housing and the heat sink define an air gap permitting air/water-flow to and from the heat sink

An LED apparatus of the type including (a) a mounting board having an LED-supporting surface with an LED device thereon and (b) a lens member over the LED device establishing a light path therebetween. The inventive LED apparatus includes a lens-aligning member having front and back surfaces and defining an aperture receiving the LED device therethrough such that the LED device protrudes beyond the front surface. The lens member includes a lens portion and a flange thereabout, the flange being attached to the front surface of the lens-aligning member such that the lens portion substantially surrounds the protruding LED device. The lens-aligning member has a first mating feature which is positioned and arranged for mating engagement with a second mating feature of the mounting board, thereby accurately aligning the lens member over the LED device by accurately aligning the lens-alignment member with the mounting board. Other aspects of the invention is a method for LED-apparatus assembly and a method for manufacturing custom high-efficiency LED lensing for LED-array modules.

A low-voltage LED lighting system and method for installation thereof in which the system includes: (a) at least one LED lighting fixture each having one or more LEDs; (b) at least one remotely-located power driver; and (c) interconnections between the at least one LED fixture and the at least one driver using communication network cabling and standard 8P8C network connectors. Preferred lighting fixtures are recessed lighting fixtures adapted for ceiling mounting.

A method for LED-module assembly comprising the steps of providing a base portion with a base inner surface and a cover with a cover inner surface which together define a module interior, the cover having at least one opening therethrough; putting a sealing member into the module interior; positioning an LED lens into the cover opening; aligning an LED emitter and the LED lens within the module interior; sealing the module interior by securing the base portion with respect to the cover. The LED emitter is powered for imaging of the LED module to test light-output characteristics. A specific type of the LED lens is selected and its type and orientation are verified. The step of vacuum testing checks for water-air/tightness of the sealing of LED-module interior. A central database provides assembly and testing parameters to automated tool(s) performing each particular step. Each LED module includes a unique machine-identifiable module-marking with which the data related to each individual LED module is associated and stored in the central database.
