Medical appliances may be formed of multilayered constructs. The layers of the constructs may be configured with various physical properties or characteristics. The disposition and arrangement of each layer may be configured to create an overall construct with a combination of the individual properties of the layers. Constructs may be used to create vascular prostheses or other medical devices.

Layered medical appliances and methods

Fibrous materials and methods of manufacturing fibrous materials are disclosed. In particular, this application discloses methods of making and processing serially deposited fibrous structures, such as serially deposited fibrous mats. Serially deposited fibrous mats may be used in implantable medical devices with various characteristics and features. Serially deposited fibrous mats of various mat thickness, fiber size, porosity, pore size, and fiber density are disclosed. Additionally, serially deposited fibrous mats having various amounts of fiber structures (such as intersections, branches, and bundles) per unit area are also disclosed.

Serially deposited fiber materials and associated devices and methods

Devices used to restrict flow within a blood vessel are disclosed. Devices within the scope of this disclosure include a braided lattice of nitinol wires that form self-expanding enclosures of an embolic structure. The devices may further include embolic particles disposed within the enclosures. Methods of deploying the devices with the embolic particles are disclosed. Methods of manufacturing the devices with the embolic particles disposed within the enclosures are disclosed.

Sheets of material used in medical devices and filters are disclosed. The sheets may include a fibrous mat including a plurality of microfibers. The microfibers may include a polymer matrix and a plurality of additive particles. The additive particles may include carbon material particles, therapeutic micro particles, and any combination thereof. Medical devices and filters that use the sheets are disclosed. Methods of producing the sheets are also disclosed.

A vascular prosthesis deployment device and related methods are disclosed. In some embodiments the deployment device may include a delivery catheter assembly. The delivery catheter assembly may include a pliant member, wherein the pliant member is configured receive a vascular prosthesis. The pliant member may also be configured to aid in incrementally deploying a vascular prosthesis.

Pliant members for receiving and aiding in the deployment of vascular prostheses

Endovascular prostheses used to treat diseased blood vessels, such as arteries, are disclosed. In some embodiments, the endovascular prosthesis is configured to be implanted within the diseased blood vessels adjacent a diseased section. The endovascular prosthesis may include a selectively openable internal duct configured to sealingly receive an expandable endovascular prosthesis that extends into a side branch vessel of the diseased blood vessel.

Medical devices including vascular access kits and related methods are disclosed. In some embodiments, a vascular access system may include a first conduit, a second conduit, and a connector that is reversibly or irreversibly coupled to both the first and second conduits such that there is a continuous lumen from the first conduit and the second conduit. In some embodiments the vascular access system may include a connector where the inside geometry of the connector enhances laminar flow. The vascular access system, when implanted and assembled, may be a fully subcutaneous surgical implant.

Methods and systems for coupling conduits

A medical appliance or prosthesis may comprise one or more layers of rotational spun nanofibers, including rotational spun polymers. The rotational spun material may comprise layers including layers of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). Rotational spun nanofiber mats of certain porosities may permit tissue ingrowth into or attachment to the prosthesis. Additionally, one or more cuffs may be configured to allow tissue ingrowth to anchor the prosthesis.

A medical appliance or prosthesis may comprise one or more layers of electrospun nanofibers, including electrospun polymers. The electrospun material may comprise layers including layers of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The present disclosure relates to a medical anchor device and methods of use for providing an improved device for intraluminally directed vascular anastomosis. The anchor device includes a generally tubular graft having a flange disposed at one end thereof, where a portion of the graft extends through the flange. The flange includes a wire frame made of a resilient material and a thin membrane covering or overlaying the wire frame, where the wire frame is self-expanding when deployed within a lumen. The device may be deployed within the lumen at an anastomotic site without a need for sutures, staples, clips, or other mechanical attachment means that may cause further injury.

Systems and methods of implanting a vascular access technologies and declotting vascular access technologies, such as vascular access assemblies that facilitate hemodialysis, are provided. The methods can include disposing a first tubular conduit within a patient to access a vascular access assembly within the heart of the patient. The first tubular conduit can be coupled to the vascular access assembly such that the first tubular conduit can be decoupled from the vascular access assembly to evacuate a clot within the vascular access assembly, and then recouple the first tubular conduit to the vascular access assembly.

Releasable conduit connectors

Vascular access devices, assemblies, kits, and related methods are disclosed. A vascular access assembly may include a first tubular conduit, a second tubular conduit, and an expandable stent graft that is coupled adjacent to a peripheral end of the second tubular conduit. When implanted into the patient, vascular access assemblies may form a flow path that extends from an artery or an arteriovenous graft to a heart of a patient. The vascular access assembly, when implanted and assembled, may be a fully subcutaneous surgical implant.
