An arrangement for coupling together end-to-end segmented sections of an elongated member can be used with an elongated apparatus that is broken down into the segmented sections for the purpose of conveniently packaging the elongated apparatus in cardboard cartons and the like. The coupling arrangement is used to join the segmented sections when the tool is removed from the carton. The coupling arrangement can include a locking feature that prevents the segmented sections from being separated from one another after they have been joined by the coupling arrangement.

A utensil holder for use in a dishwasher includes a basket including front, rear, bottom and opposing side walls, as well as an upper opening. The rear wall has a height greater than the front wall. A lid member, having a support surface across which are arrayed a plurality of openings, is secured across the upper opening. The plurality of openings receive and arrange utensils to be exposed to a washing operation. A handle member, including first and second upstanding portions interconnected through a cross bar portion, extends from the basket. The cross bar portion includes angled sections that enable a gripping section to be offset. The utensil holder is designed to mount in various configurations to an inner liner of a dishwasher door, or alternatively be supported on a rack in the dishwasher.

A utensil holder assembly for a dishwasher includes multiple utensil baskets that can be mounted in various different configurations in the dishwasher to provide a consumer with the flexibility to construct diverse arrangements of dishware, cookware, utensils and the like for a washing operation. In a first configuration, two utensil baskets are interconnected to form an elongated basket which can be mounted to an inner liner of a dishwasher door. In a second configuration, one basket is mounted to the inner liner and the other basket is supported on a rack in the dishwasher. In a third configuration, both of the baskets are supported on the rack.

A vertical height adjustment mechanism for a dish rack includes a slide member fixedly mounted relative to a support member, a housing secured to the dish rack, and a latch member. The housing includes a central guide channel that slidably receives the slide member. The latch member includes a support leg, an actuating arm and an intermediate portion joining the support leg and actuating arm. The sliding element includes an end portion that receives and retains the support leg of the latch when the dish rack is in the raised position.

A tool with an engine, a shaft, and a recoil starter pulley coupled to the shaft for rotation about an axis. A starter pull rope for winding and unwinding around the recoil starter pulley. An air chamber shroud extending about at least a portion of the pulley, the rope extending from the pulley through the shroud. A tube enclosing a portion of the rope and extending from a location adjacent to and aligned with the pulley to a location at an exterior of the shroud that is axially offset from the pulley. The tube may have flared ends to reduce gradual wear of the rope. The tube alters a trajectory of the pull rope to be substantially offset from the plane of the starter pulley so as to avoid interfering with neighboring structures inside the tool.

A dishwasher silverware basket is provided with a cage and a back wall which are snap-fit together. The cage includes a front wall, opposite side walls, and a bottom wall. The cage and back wall are both provided with mating hooks and openings which snap-fit together to form the silverware basket. In assembling the cage and back wall, hooks on the cage are fit into openings in the back wall. The cage is then moved toward the back wall so that second hooks on the back wall snap-fit into openings or recesses in the cage so as to form a permanent basket. Finally, the cage is moved downwardly with respect to the back wall so that the hooks on the cage engage with the lower edge portions of the back wall openings. Dividers may be provided in the basket to define compartments therein. The basket can be mounted on the interior surface of the dishwasher door via slots in the back wall, or can be set within a rack in the dishwasher.

A dishwasher rack includes foldable tines adapted to be retained in one or more positions between an upright position and a lowered position. The lower ends of the tines in each set are fixed relative to one another, while the upper ends of the tines can be spaced progressively farther apart from one another as the tines are folded from the upright position to the lowered position. Therefore, a dinner plate or other tall object supported by the tines will be tilted progressively farther from a vertical plane as the tines are folded toward the lowered position.

A dishwasher is provided with an adjustable rack that can be moved upwardly and downwardly within the washing chamber to accommodate different sized objects to be washed. The lift mechanism for the rack is housed within the sidewalls of the dishwasher. The lift mechanism employs a cable system to raise both sides of the rack simultaneously, with the rack positioned within or outside the washing chamber and with the rack either loaded or unloaded. In one embodiment, the lift mechanism is manually actuated by turning a handle. In another embodiment, the lift mechanism includes an electric motor with a switch on the control panel for raising and lowering the rack.
