A system and method for applying a fragrance or malodor control agent to a plastic web is provided. The system includes a form and seal machine that is used to form and seal a plastic web and a fragrance or malodor control agent applicator that applies a fragrance or malodor control agent to the plastic web. The fragrance or malodor control agent applicator designed to apply fragrance or malodor control agent directly to a first interior surface and a second interior surface formed by folding the plastic web with the form and seal machine.

Drawtape includes a film of a polymeric blend of a minor polymer component of linear low density polyethylene and a major polymer component of medium density polyethylene and/or high density polyethylene. The drawtape of the disclosed subject matter is capable of a strong seal with a commercial polymeric bag, and provides a high elongation prior to tape failure or seal failure. Drawtape bag and method of making the drawtape are also provided.

Bags or liners having incorporated therein an effective amount of odor management agents including a counteractant agent, a neutralizing agent and optionally, a masking agent, whereby the odor management agent imparts no perceptible scent to the bags or liners, such that the bags or liners are substantially free of fragrance while the odor management agent reduces malodor emanating from products disposed within the bag. Further, the invention is drawn to web materials for use in forming the bags or liners having odor management agents. The odor management agent is disposed within the bag or dispersed substantially uniformly throughout the web.

Bags having odor management capabilities

A drawtape bag comprising a pair of pliable thermoplastic body panels, a pliable drawtape and an elastomeric strip. The pair of pliable thermoplastic body panels are joined to each other along a pair of opposing sides and a bottom bridging the opposing sides. At least one of the body panels forms a hem extending along a mouth end disposed opposite the bottom. The hem includes one or more drawtape holes. The pliable drawtape is housed within the hem and includes a gathered section. The drawtape is partially exposed by the drawtape holes which allow the drawtape to be pulled therethrough to close the bag and to be used as a handle. The elastomeric strip is connected to the gathered section of the drawtape. The elastomeric strip comprises behenamide to inhibit or prevent blocking of the elastomeric strip to the hem or drawtape.
