The driving device includes, a release member ( ) and a wedge member ( ). Both the pull tab and the wedge member are mechanically linked to the release member. When the pull tab is pulled outwardly, the release member rotates with respect to the connector assembly, driving the wedge member to press against the bendable portion of the receptacle, thus disengaging the tab from the hole. The transceiver module is then easily withdrawn from the receptacle. This arrangement allows the transceiver modules to be closely stacked together while still being readily accessible. This advantage decreases a stacking height of multiple transceiver modules.

A wire spacer ( ) is used to reduce the cost of terminating wires ( ) of a cable ( ) to a cable termination connector assembly ( ). The connector assembly includes the wire spacer, a dielectric housing ( ), a conductive shroud ( ), a printed circuit board ( ) and a number of contacts ( ). The contacts mount in the housing and are soldered to one end of the PCB. The wires are inserted through holes ( ) of the wire spacer ( ). Proper positioning of the wires is then more easily verified and stripping the wires and attaching the pair of conductors in each wire to a rear end of the PCB can then be automated. This results in lower production cost. An added advantage is the wire spacer functions as a strain relief for wires of the cable.

A compact flash card includes a lower half defining a receiving space by peripheral wall thereof. A pair of posts is arranged diagonally on the lower half. An upper half is assembled to the lower half defining at least a pair. of holes corresponding to the posts. The upper and lower halves each includes a metal panel. A gap is defined between the lower and upper halves for receiving a printed circuit board. The printed circuit board includes a pair of holes corresponding to the posts. The posts extend through the holes of the printed circuit board and establish a grounding path between the upper and lower metal panels.

Method for making an electrical connector, comprising the following steps. Step 1: defining first carrier and first terminal sections along a first material sheet. Step 2: defining at least a first pilot hole on the first carrier section and at least two first terminals on the first terminal section. Each first terminal has a body portion extending between front and rear contact portions. Step 3: forming a first bridging rib around the first terminals aligned by the first carrier section through a first inserting mold. Step 4: making a second insert molding around the body portions of the terminals supportably aligned by the associated first bridging rib.

Method for making an electrical connector

An electrical contact comprises a body portion defining first and second ends which are opposite to each other. A first spring arm extends from the first end, and a second spring arm extends from the second end wherein a displacement of a second contacting end of the second spring arm is orthogonal to a displacement of a first contacting end of the first spring arm. The second spring arm has a larger Young's modulus than the first spring arm.

An electric connector assembly includes a bracket having a pair of upward-extending arms fixedly receiving a D-sub connector therebetween and a pair of downward-extending legs defining a space for accommodating an ultra-SCSI connector therein. The D-sub connector has first conductive pins of a coarse pitch extending beyond a lower face of the bracket. The bracket forms a pair of first guide posts on the lower face thereof for being inserted into corresponding holes defined in a circuit board to properly align the first pins with corresponding apertures defined in the circuit board. The ultra-SCSI connector has a plurality of second conductive pins extending beyond the lower face. A pair of metallic projections is fixed to the ultra-SCSI connector and extends beyond the lower face for being received in corresponding holes defined in the circuit board to align the second pins with corresponding apertures defined in the circuit board independent of the bracket and the D-sub connector. The projections of the ultra-SCSI connector have a size greater than board locks of a conventional ultra-SCSI connector thereby being capable to sustain an excessive force in mounting the connector assembly to the circuit board. Furthermore, the projections interferentially engage with the corresponding holes for retaining the ultra-SCSI connector on the circuit board preventing the ultra-SCSI connector from floating during a dipping soldering process.
