A disk-like container having a cylindrical sidewall is retained and released from a receptacle formed by a partial cylindrical back wall adapted to contact the cylindrical sidewall of the container. A first portion of the back wall extends circumferentially less than 180 degrees around the cylindrical sidewall of the container. A second portion of the back wall extends from the first portion, and cumulatively with the first portion extends circumferentially to greater than 180 degrees around the cylindrical sidewall of the container. A release tab formed by the second portion of the back wall deflects to move the second portion outward away from the cylindrical sidewall of the container to permit the container to be inserted into and removed from the receptacle. A plurality of the receptacles are formed in a single clip tray, and the clip trays may be oriented and positioned singularly or in multiple assemblies.

The validity of a coin is tested in a coin mechanism typically used for vending products. A test arm which is integrally and resiliently connected to a back plate contacts a coin when the coin wheel is rotated, and the test arm resiliently deflects in response to contact with the characteristic of the coin tested. The validity of the coin is established by the degree of movement of the test arm. More than one test arm functions to test different characteristics of the coin to establish validity and the prevent illegitimate dispensing of products. When a coin is not present, the test arm is not deflected to maintain its resiliency characteristics. Preferably the coin mechanism is assembled from a relatively few injection molded durable plastic parts.

Novel structures and methods are disclosed for creating and maintaining an underwater air chamber beneath a volume of water within a conventional aquarium for access by amphibious life within the aquarium to permit the amphibious life to selectively leave a water environment for a dry environment. In one embodiment, the underwater air chamber includes a hood secured to a base which defines a hollow chamber. After the apparatus is submerged in an aquarium, pressurized gas is introduced into the hollow chamber to create a dry environment within the hollow chamber. A gas effluent control is associated with the hood to selectively release the gas under pressure from within the chamber. An entryway into the chamber is also formed in the hood to permit amphibious life to selectively enter and exit the chamber, as well as to permit larger air bubbles to escape from within the air chamber. Another embodiment discloses an underwater air chamber formed integrally with an aquarium. Structures and methods are also disclosed for delivering a food object to a submerged air chamber from above the water surface of an aquarium.

Underwater apparatus for an aquarium and related methods

An auger-holder designed for transporting, stabilizing, and operating an auger from a vehicle, preferably an all-terrain vehicle (ATV). The auger-holder includes a primary frame, a secondary frame, an attachment device for attaching the primary frame to a vehicle, and a locking mechanism for securing the secondary frame to the primary frame when the auger is not in use. The primary frame includes a structure of vertical and horizontal support members. The secondary frame is adjustably connected to the primary frame for stability and operability of the auger. The auger-holder optionally includes a hinge apparatus for aligning the auger at a range of angles relative to the plane of underlying terrain.

A disk-shaped container for a disk-shaped lollipop includes a handle having a proximal end buried in the lollipop and a distal end for grasping by the user. A transverse flange of predetermined diameter is fixably located on the handle between the proximal and distal ends adjacent the lollipop. The longitudinal axis of the handle passes through the transverse flange. The invention further includes a hollow disk-shaped container for receiving the disk-shaped lollipop. The disk-shaped container includes a snap-fit removable lid and an upwardly extending removable mating portion functioning as a removable receptacle. The mating portion of the container includes an opening in the sidewall for receiving the distal end of the handle. When assembled, the transverse flange of the handle seats against the opening in the mating portion of the container and seals the opening to prevent leakage therethrough.

A water treatment device is described which incorporates an easily changed cartridge containing an open-cell foam having a water treatment material contained therein, such as granules of a halogen compound. The device includes an adjustable orifice valve member which may be selectively positioned to control the water flowing through the cartridge. Thus, the device may be included in a water treatment system to treat either water flowing a source to a storage tank, or water being recirculated back into the storage tank.
