An image capture and display device includes an electronic motion image camera for capturing the image of a subject located in front of the image display device and a digital projector for projecting the captured image. An optical element provides a common optical axis electronic camera and the digital electronic camera, and a light valve projection screen electronically switchable between a transparent state and a frosted state, is located with respect to the common optical axis for allowing the electronic camera to capture the image of the subject through the projection screen when in the transparent state and for displaying the captured image on the projection screen when in the frosted state. A controller connected to the electronic camera, the digital projector, and the light valve projection screen alternately places the projection screen in the transparent state and causes the electronic camera to capture an image, and places the projection screen in the frosted state and causes the digital projector to display the captured image on the projection screen.

A photofinishing system for automatically processing image and associated image data pursuant to customer output requests. The system includes an order manager operative to receive and control processing of the output requests and at least one source of image related data corresponding to the output request. An input interface receives the image related data from the source and converts the data to a digital data stream. A memory is included for storing the digital data stream. The system further includes a data parser disposed in communication with the memory to extract selected data streams according to the order manager and to reduce the data into respective image files having respective groups of data fields. An output module is responsive to the order manager and is operative to produce a photofinished output organized with respect to the data fields.

A color printer according to the present invention includes a clutch means, an urging member and a positional alignment mechanism. The clutch means is used for engaging and disengaging a driving force used to move a paper holder means. The urging member (e.g., a spring) is used to urge the paper holder means in a direction opposite to the printing direction. The thermal printer comprises a detector for detecting the level of pixels data read out sequentially from the memory circuit to determine if a pixel of a line in the output image is to be printed has adjacent pixels that are not to be printed. Circuitry is provided to receive a printing pattern from the memory and to be responsive to the detector and to cause the heating elements corresponding to such image pixel to be printed to be energized above a predetermined dye transfer threshold level and the heating elements corresponding to pixels not be printed to be energized below the threshold level.
