A cable management system may comprise a longitudinal trough with a plurality of lights disposed on an underside of the trough. A power connector may be disposed at an end of the trough communicatively coupled to the plurality of lights. The cable management system may also comprise a second trough or one of a plurality of cable management components, each with a plurality of lights disposed on an underside and a power connector communicatively coupled to the pluralities of lights. The first trough, the second trough, and/or the plurality of cable management components may mate together to form a continuous circuit.

Overhead cable management system with integrated lighting

Portable visitor stations that are easy to set up are disclosed. Portable visitor stations, including a visitor application stored on a portable computer may be set up for a facility by sending a location at which the portable computer is to be located at to a visitor processing service and sending a list of contacts associated with the facility to the visitor processing service. In some embodiments, the portable visitor station may be set up exclusively by sending only the received location and the received list to the visitor processing service.

A telecommunication bantam jack module (10) is illustrated in FIGS. 6-8 for mounting on a standard length 19' or 23' shelf as illustrated in FIGS. 10 and 11 to connect with 64 or 84 circuits respectively. Each module preferably contains four bantam jack assemblies or multiples of four. Each bantam jack assembly (86) includes a jack frame (88) having a width less than 0.250 inches and preferably approximately 0.225 inches. Jack frame (88) has an output sleeve (94), an input sleeve (96) and a monitor sleeve (98). Each of the sleeves has a reduced wall thickness in the horizontal direction at the center line in which the thickness is approximately 0.215 inches. The reduced thickness is approximately 0.019-0.02 inches. In the preferred embodiment, the sleeves (94), (96) and (98) have flats (102) formed on the sides thereof to form the reduced cross section.

Telecommunication bantam jack module

A digital telecommunication network having a digital cross-connect system is described for facilitating the installation, testing, monitoring, restoration and repair of digital telecommunication apparatus. The system includes a plurality of digital cross-connect modules. Each of the modules has an input jack, an output jack, a cross-connect input jack, a cross-connect output jack, monitor output jack, and monitor input jack mounted on a front panel. Each of the modules has an input switch for cross-connecting an input conductor with a cross-connect input conductor to interconnect the input portion of two items of digital telecommunication apparatus. Each of the modules has an output switch for cross-connecting an output conductor with a cross-connect output conductor to interconnect the output portion of the two items of digital telecommunication apparatus. Each of the switches has means for disengaging the respective conductors when a plug is inserted into a respective jack to isolate the conductor.
