A group of identical bezel plates having bilateral symmetry interchangeable, in a compound bezel assembly, with at least one other group of identical bezel plates having bilateral symmetry to produce multiple, bilaterally symmetrical, compound bezel configurations with different appearances using a minimal number of component plates; and method and apparatus for providing a venting bezel assembly with a plenum chamber formed between component plates.

Bezel assembly and method of production

In general, the present invention provides an autochanger device having a cavity for receiving a magazine containing a media cartridge, wherein a retention arm of the cavity retrains the media pieces within the magazine while the magazine fills the cavity. In particular, a detent mechanism attached to the magazine interacts with the retention arm of the library, via a magazine transport handle, to secure media cartridges contained within the magazine as the magazine is received by a cavity of the autochanger.

Method and system for restraining a cartridge within an insertable magazine

A magazine assembly containing numerous media units is disposed adjacent to a picker assembly. One of the two assemblies is normally stationary, while the other assembly is a traveling assembly. In either case, the two assemblies cooperate with one another to selectively provide the picker assembly with access to the media units that are stored in the magazine assembly. A motion reversal assembly is coupled to the normally stationary assembly and is engageable by the traveling assembly when it enters an end portion of its excursion path. When the motion reversal assembly is so engaged, it moves the normally stationary assembly in the direction opposite to that of the traveling assembly's movement. The effect is an apparent increase in the traveling assembly's available excursion length, which makes it possible for the picker assembly to access media slots that would otherwise be disposed in the dead spaces located on either end of the traveling assembly's excursion path.

Technique for eliminating end-of-travel dead space in media autochangers

A bezel assembly comprising a bezel plate having at least one elongated member projecting outwardly therefrom; a structural member having at least one opening extending therethrough; a lock plate having at least one opening extending therethrough; a catch member mounted on either the bezel plate or the lock plate; and a lock member mounted on the plate which does not have the catch member; the lock member being displaceably lockingly engageable with the catch member; the structural member being disposed between the bezel plate and the lock plate; the elongated member extending through the openings in the structural member and the lock plate.
