A refrigeration system comprising a controller is provided. The controller is configured to: determine one or more parameters of the refrigeration system; determine whether a first mode selection condition has been met and/or whether a second mode selection condition has been met based on the determined one or more parameters; select a first mode upon the first mode selection condition having been determined to have been met and/or upon the second mode selection condition having been determined to have not been met; select a second mode upon the second mode selection condition having been determined to have been met and/or upon the first mode selection condition having been determined to have not been met; and operate the refrigeration system in the selected mode.

Refrigeration system and method of operating a refrigeration system

The present disclosure provides a transport refrigeration system for a refrigerated transport unit having an interior space comprising two or more zones. The system includes: a refrigeration circuit configured for temperature control of the zones and a controller. For each of the zones: the refrigeration circuit comprises a respective evaporator and a variable speed air mover driven by a motor. The controller is configured to: determine a target flow rate for the return air in the respective zone; and operate the motor to maintain the target flow rate of return air in the respective zone. The target flow rate is variable, and the controller is configured to determine the target flow rate based on one or more variable parameters monitored or determined by the controller.

Transport refrigeration system

There is disclosed a refrigeration system comprising a refrigeration circuit that includes a compressor, a condenser, an expansion valve and an evaporator. A condenser fan of the refrigeration system is configured to operate, under the control of a controller, at a condenser fan speed that is set based on a current refrigeration demand on the system.

Speed control strategies for a condenser fan in a refrigeration system

A transport climate control system is disclosed. The system includes a compressor, a motor-generator-rectifier machine, a belt drive connected to the motor-generator-rectifier machine and the compressor, at least one condenser fan, at least one evaporator fan, and a DC to DC converter. The motor-generator-rectifier machine connects to the at least one condenser fan, the at least one evaporator fan, and the DC to DC converter. The motor-generator-rectifier machine includes a motor, a low voltage generator connected to the motor, and a rectifier connected to the low voltage generator. The motor-generator-rectifier machine can provide a first low voltage DC power to the at least one condenser fan, the at least one evaporator fan, and the DC to DC converter. The DC to DC converter can convert the first low voltage DC power to a second low voltage DC power that is different from the first low voltage DC power.

Transport climate control system power architecture

Methods and systems for controlling a transport refrigeration system are provided. In one instance, the method includes identifying an operational mode change request for a heat exchanger unit of the transport refrigeration system. The method also includes preparing the transport refrigeration system for the operational mode change of the heat exchanger unit, wherein preparing the transport refrigeration system for the operational mode change of the heat exchanger unit includes performing a load control action, the load control action preventing a power source of the transport refrigeration system from at least one of operating outside of a predefined revolutions per minute (RPM) bandwidth and exceeding a predefined power limit of the power source. Also, the method includes changing the operational mode of the heat exchanger unit; and removing the load control action.

Methods and systems to control engine loading on a transport refrigeration system

Methods and systems for coordinated zone operation of the MTRS are provided. The method includes a MTRS controller determining whether a first zone environmental condition difference between a first zone measured environmental condition and a first zone desired set point environmental condition is greater than a first threshold. The method also includes the MTRS controller coordinating operation of the first environmental condition unit and the second environmental condition unit when the first zone environmental condition difference is determined to be greater than the first threshold.

Methods and systems for coordinated zone operation of a multi-zone transport refrigeration system

Systems and methods to distribute airflow in an internal space of a transport unit are described. The airflow distribution system may include an airflow distributor forming an airflow passage with a roof of the transport unit. The airflow distribution system may be also configured to allow airflow to discharge from a gap between the airflow distributor and the roof. The gap may be provided by at least one spacer between the airflow distributor and the roof. A back end of the airflow distribution system may be configured to provide a back pressure to the airflow passage while allowing the airflow to discharge. In operation, a front end of the airflow distribution system may be configured to receive airflow. The airflow can be distributed along the airflow passage and be discharged from the gap and the back end.
