In some implementation, a device may execute a web-browsing application installed on the device. The device may scan, by a near-field communication (NFC) reader of the device and in connection with the web-browsing application, an NFC tag of an interaction card associated with an account of a user. The device may receive, from the interaction card, data associated with the account of the user. The device may store the data as coded data in the web-browsing application. The device may generate a uniform resource locator (URL) associated with a partial application having reduced functionality. The URL may include one or more URL parameters containing the coded data. The device may launch the partial application based on a user interaction with a hyperlink associated with the URL. The partial application may parse the URL parameter(s) and may decode the coded data to be used by the partial application.

An automated method is provided for initiating a transaction function in a transaction processing device. The transaction processing device transmits the NFC information to a merchant processor and receives from the merchant processor a tag rule communication including an instruction to carry out a transaction function associated with the tag identifier or a request to associate a new transaction function with the tag identifier. Responsive to receiving an instruction to carry out a transaction function associated with the tag identifier, the transaction processing device executes the transaction function. Responsive to receiving a request to associate a new transaction function with the tag identifier, the transaction processing device transmits a request response to the merchant processor.

Various embodiments are directed to applying, via contactless card authentication, one or more restrictions to a virtual card number and generating the card number for use by a recipient. The one or more restrictions may be specifically personalized to the recipient and may include, for example, a merchant restriction, an amount restriction, a time period restriction, or a location restriction. The generated virtual card number along with the applied one or more restrictions may be consumed in various ways, such as writing the number to a blank card, transmitting the number directly to the recipient's computing device, etc., all via near-field communication.

The application may then receive, from the server, an encrypted account number associated with the account, and decrypt the encrypted account number to yield the account number. An autofill service of an operating system (OS) executing on the processor circuit, may then autofill the account number to the payment field of the form.

The application may determine that the comparison results in a match, and display, based on the determination that the comparison results in the match, one or more attributes of the account.
