A heat activatable thermoplastic adhesive composition is described which comprises (a) a thermoplastic polymer, (b) an organic polymer having a plurality of functional groups available for crosslinking, and (c) a crosslinking agent capable of reacting with (b). The adhesive compositions exhibit delayed tack and improved temperature resistance.

A method for forming a strong bond between a substrate and a solid thermoplastic polymer which comprises melting a thermoplastic polymer having an effective open time (a period after melting the polymer during which it remains aggressively tacky and bondable below the melting temperature), cooling it below the melting temperature, contacting the open polymer with a substrate and allowing the polymer to revert to its non-bondable, solid state. Also disclosed are a class of copolyesters suitable for use in the method and certain novel articles adapted for carrying out the method.

A non-glare, abrasion resistant coating can be produced by spraying a polymerizable composition onto a surface. The composition comprises an epoxy prepolymer of an epoxy-terminated silane and an oxirane comonomer in solution. The composition may be conveniently applied from an aerosol can.
