A connector includes a holding member. The holding member has two guide portions which are arranged away from each other in a pitch direction. [Problem] To provide a hybrid connector and a cable with the connector which correct a positional error of connector units and enable to connect connectors when they are connected and even if there is a small positional error of the connection unit. [Solving Means] A hybrid connector holds plural connector unitstoin a common connector housing. Each of the plural connector units is held individually movably in a direction (XY) orthogonal to an axial direction (Z) of connection. The connector unit is preferably movably held through a holding memberformed by an elastic matter. Front edges at the fitting start of the plural connector unitstoare tapered, and the connector units move along tapered portions in the connection fitting time. The plural connector units may be different in front-edge fitting start position along a connecting direction.

[Problem] To provide a cable with a connector which can enhance simply and readily accuracy of the relative positions among plural connector units and does not cause connection failure, and a manufacturing method of the same. [Solving Means] In a cable with a connector, a hybrid connectorholding a plurality of connector unitstoin a common connector housingis connected to at least one end of a hybrid cable. The connector housinghas a recess groovefor accommodating and holding therein a flange portiontoof the connector unitto. The recess groove has a clearance which enables positional adjustment of the connector unit in a direction orthogonal to an axial direction of connection of the connector unit. A thermosetting adhesiveis applied to the clearance, whereby the plurality of connector units are bonded and fixed to the connector housing with the predetermined relative positions and intervals.

An object is to obtain a module in which an optical fiber can be inserted after a ferrule has been mounted on a circuit board. An optical module is configured such that it is not susceptible to fine particulate matter when an optical fiber is inserted into a fiber insertion hole thereof. The optical module is also configured to prevent any reduction in the optical coupling efficiency and degradation of anti-noise properties with the optical fiber. The optical module includes: a ferrule, having the fiber insertion hole formed on an end surface on which an electrical circuit is formed; a photoelectric conversion element, connected to the electrical circuit and facing the fiber insertion hole; and an optical fiber, optically coupled directly with the photoelectric conversion element. The optical fiber has a glass fiber and a protective coating, and is aligned with the insertion hole with the protective coating interposed therebetween. The optical fiber is retained in the insertion hole with the glass fiber not in contact with the insertion hole.

An optical module has an electrical connector to connect a device; an optical element unit being electrically connected to the electrical connector and provided with optical elements to convert electrical signals and optical signals and emitting or receiving light; an optical ferrule, having a plurality of optical fiber insertion holes, to hold optical fibers inserted into the plurality of optical fiber insertion holes so as to allow the fibers to be optically connected to the optical element; and an optical cable inlet to introduce an end part of an optical cable provided with the optical fibers. The cable unit with an optical module has an optical cable that includes a plurality of optical fibers and an optical module provided at two ends of the optical cable.

An optical connector that is capable of ensuring excellent waterproofing using a simple structure is provided. The optical connector comprises a connector plug and socket. Each of the plug and socket have a housing, which has a cable-guiding part and a cable-retaining part; a ferrule disposed within the housing and to hold a leading-end part of an optical fiber exposed from a sheath of an optical cable; and a seal member disposed between the cable-guiding part and the cable-retaining part to seal the cable-guiding part.

When a glass fiber and an inner fiber coating layer are to be attached to a connector by removing an outer fiber coating layer while leaving the inner fiber coating layer as it is, a collective coating and the outer fiber coating layer can be removed at a stretch so that the inner fiber coating layer can easily and satisfactorily be exposed. In the ultraviolet curable resin coating layer of a coated optical fiberof an optical fiber ribbonfor wiring of equipment, the inner fiber coating layerhas a Young's modulus of 600 MPa to 1000 MPa, and the outer fiber coating layerhas a Young's modulus of 10 MPa to 300 MPa. The material of the outer fiber coating layeris made by mixing 100 weight parts of base resin, 1-30 weight parts of silicone-based additive, and 0.5 to 40 weight parts of long chain fatty acid ester compound, wherein the base resin is a material made of a urethane metha acrylate oligomer, a mono-functional or multi-functional reactive dilution monomer, and an optical initiator.
