A power storage device includes: a power storage module including a plurality of stacked power storage cells; and a case having an inner space to accommodate the power storage module. The case includes a main body provided with an opening on an electrode terminal side of the plurality of power storage cells, a cover provided over the opening, and a tapered portion that narrows a width of the inner space in a direction from the opening toward a lower side of the main body.

A power storage device includes: a power storage module in which a plurality of power storage cells are stacked along a stacking direction; and a case that accommodates the power storage module, wherein each of the power storage cells in the power storage module has a main surface extending in a direction substantially orthogonal to the stacking direction, and the case includes a supporting portion that supports, along the stacking direction, the power storage module accommodated in the case, and the case is provided with a recess that is provided at a position different from the supporting portion and that opens toward the main surface.

A method of manufacturing a power storage module includes: stacking a plurality of power storage cells along a first direction; compressing the plurality of power storage cells along the first direction; aligning the plurality of power storage cells in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction after relieving pressing force of the compressing; compressing the plurality of power storage cells along the first direction after aligning the plurality of power storage cells in the second direction; disposing a restraint portion on both sides in the first direction with respect to the plurality of power storage cells under application of pressing force of the compressing; and restraining the plurality of power storage cells by the restraint portion along the first direction by relieving, after disposing the restraint portion, the pressing force of the compressing.

Method of manufacturing power storage module

A power supply device includes battery cells each having a rectangular external shape, a separator disposed between the battery cells, a pair of end plates that are disposed on respective ends of a battery assembly in which the separator and the battery cells are stacked, and a bind bar that binds the pair of end plates. The separator has insulating rib parts that protrude from both surfaces of the separator, and the insulating rib parts of the separator stacked on each surface of the battery cell are stacked on each other on a bottom surface of the battery cell. The insulating rib parts are stacked on each other on the bottom surface of the battery cell by inserting an insertion rib provided in one of the stacked insulating rib parts into an insertion groove provided in the other of the stacked insulating rib parts.

A power supply device has; a battery stacked body where a plural sheets of battery cells each having a positive electrode terminal and a negative electrode terminal at one surface thereof are stacked; and a plurality of bus bars which connect the electrode terminals in the battery cells adjacently disposed. Each of the bus bars partially has a thin area whose thickness is thinner than a thickness of the other area, and an open window formed in the dun area, and opening a portion thereof. The thin area is formed in an oval shape elongated in the battery cell stacking direction, and the open window extends in a direction along the length of the oval shape. This configuration allows the thin area, above and below the length side of the oval shaped thin area, to be secured as a joining area for laser welding or the like.

In order to provide a power supply device having a high rigidity and a light weight, power supply device includes: one or more cell stacked bodies each formed by stacking secondary battery cells; a circuit board including a control circuit electrically connected to the cell stacked bodies; resin-made battery case for storing the cell stacked bodies and circuit board; metal-made lower frame for covering the bottom surface of battery case; and metal-made upper frame for covering the upper surface of battery case. Battery case has a waterproof structure. Battery case is grasped by connecting upper frame to lower frame.

A vehicular power source device includes: a case incorporating a battery; a service plug coupled to the battery incorporated in the case; and a protection cover of the service plug. The protection cover includes: a covering portion of the service plug; a fixing board fixed to the case via a fastener; and an opening board disposed to be adjacent to the fixing board and providing a gap to the case. In addition, the fixing board includes: a fixing portion fixed onto the case via the fastener; a linking portion linking the fixing portion to the covering portion; and a breaking portion. The breaking portion is provided in the fixing portion or in a boundary portion between the fixing portion and the linking portion, and a breaking strength of the breaking portion is lower than that of the linking portion.

Vehicular power source device equipped with service plug protection cover

A plurality of battery cells are connected by a busbar. Electrode terminals of the battery cells each include a protruding portion and a welding surface around the protruding portion. The busbar includes a welding plate portion being in surface-contact with the welding surface and having a cut-away portion for guiding the protruding portion, and an exposure gap that exposes the welding surface between the inner side of the cut-away portion and the protruding portion. The busbar is welded to the welding surface in a predetermined welding width (H) by both of a fillet weld part and a penetration welding portion such that the inner edge of the cut-away portion as the fillet weld part is welded to the welding surface, and the boundary between the busbar and the welding surface is welded by the penetration welding portion.

A highly reliable assembled battery has first passages formed between a first rectangular cell and a first surface of the body part of a separator, and has second passages formed between a second rectangular cell and the second surface of the body part of the separator in an alternating manner from above to below. Openings are provided in a side wall part of the separator. The first passages and the second passages are exposed by the openings.

A power supply device includes battery cells, separators, and fastening members. The plurality of battery cells have a rectangular-box exterior shape. The separators are interposed between the battery cells, which are arranged side by side. The fastening members securely hold a battery assembly of the battery cells and the separators, which are alternately arranged side by side. The surfaces of each of the battery cells is covered by an electrically insulating covering member. Each of the separators has recessed parts that form a plurality of gas-flowing paths between the battery cells so that cooling gas can flow along surfaces of these battery cells when this separator is interposed between these battery cells. Edge parts of the recessed part, which forms the gas-flowing paths, are rounded.

The power source apparatus has a pair of endplates () disposed at the ends of the battery block, the pair of endplates is connected by connecting components (), and the pair of endplates holds the battery cells in the stacked configuration applying pressure in a direction perpendicular to the opposing planar surfaces.
