There is disclosed an operation microscope in which an observing and displaying system of an operating instrument are selected, and an endoscope image for observing a dead angle of the microscope and a navigation image are selectively displayed in a microscope observation field, so that a tomographic image, three-dimensionally constructed image, and the like can be selectively displayed in a display screen in accordance with a treatment position displayed in a monitor or an observation position of the operation microscope.

Operation microscope

The distribution of abnormal tissue, such as lesions, in an observed object is precisely detected regardless of the distribution of absorbing material present in a living organism. Provided is a fluorescence imaging apparatus () including an excitation-light radiating unit () that irradiates an observed object with excitation light of a plurality of wavelengths; a filter () that transmits fluorescence in a specific wavelength band from among fluorescence produced by the observed object in response to the excitation light radiated from the excitation-light radiating unit (); a light detector () that detects the fluorescence transmitted through the filter (); and a computing unit () that calculates a fluorescence intensity ratio in the same wavelength band in response to the excitation light of the plurality of wavelengths, which is detected by the light detector ().

Fluorescence imaging apparatus

Quantitative comparison or calculation of a plurality of images in different transmission bands is facilitated even if the transmission bandwidth of the spectroscopic element is different at different wavelengths. Provided is a spectroscopic device () including: a tunable spectroscopic element that changes the transmission band of light passing through coating layers provided on a plurality of optical substrates facing each other with a distance therebetween by adjusting the optical path length between the coating layers; an image acquisition section for acquiring an image of the light transmitted through the tunable spectroscopic element to acquire a spectroscopic image; a storage section () for storing information about spectral characteristics corresponding to the wavelength of light transmitted through the tunable spectroscopic element; and an image correction section () for correcting the spectroscopic image acquired by the image acquisition section using the information about the spectral characteristics stored in the storage section () with respect to each wavelength of light transmitted through the tunable spectroscopic element.

A capsule medical apparatus including: a cylindrical capsule-shaped exterior casing; a plurality of electrical substrates stored in the exterior casing; a connecting member using a plurality of soldering balls or a plurality of pins, the connecting member being electrically conductive and mechanically fixing the electrical substrates adjacent and opposed to one another, in a state where each of the plurality of electrical substrates are arranged in a direction orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the exterior casing such that the electrical substrates are substantially parallel to one another; a battery; and a flexible substrate which is provided with a power pattern which is electrically conductive with the battery and transmits power by the battery, and on which the power pattern is connected so as to be electrically conductive at end surfaces of the plurality of electrical substrates opposed to one another in the longitudinal direction of the exterior casing.

Capsule medical apparatus

A camera control unit for processing a signal output from an imaging device incorporated in an endoscope is provided with an analog video signal output terminal through which a video signal is output to a monitor, and a digital video signal output terminal to which a still image-specific or motion picture-specific expansion unit is coupled in a freely detachable manner. By handling a release switch, a still image or motion picture can be recorded digitally. Even when the recorded image data is edited or subjected to any other processing, deterioration of image quality can be prevented. An imaging system having these advantages can be realized on a small scale.

A capsule endoscope apparatus includes an illuminating device, an image pick-up device which picks up an image of an illuminated portion, and a radio transmitting device. The illuminating device in the capsule endoscope apparatus has a switching device which switches two or more light-emitting amount or light-emitting time. The radio transmitting device in the capsule endoscope apparatus transmits by radio waves image data obtained by the image pick-up device upon sequentially switching the two or more light-emitting amount or light-emitting time.

In an endoscopic imaging system, a signal representing an object image produced by a scope and projected by a camera head is processed by a CCU and displayed as an endoscopic image on a TV monitor. The object image is stored as digital image data on a memory in the CCU, read as image data of a still image, and recorded on a PC card mounted in a PC card slot. The PC card slot is formed in the front panel or the like of the CCU. A lid member or the like functioning as an anti-liquid invasion member and shield can be located at an opening of the slot.

With the beam scanning probe system for surgery, a pointer indicating the observation point of a beam scanning probe is superimposed upon an image of a lesion to be operated on in the head which is obtained via a TV camera or a surgery microscope, and the superimposed image information is registered as such in an image recording device. With the beam scanning probe system for surgery, information of a cytological picture is also registered in the image recording device. With the beam scanning probe system for surgery, the image recording device registers the two image information in a paired fashion. Through this arrangement, the beam scanning probe system for surgery can smoothly locate, for a given cytological picture, a site of a tumor to be treated from which the picture was obtained, which will ease the operation.

An object is imaged continuously during a first exposure time and a second exposure time shorter than the first exposure time. Weights, one of which decreases monotonously and the other of which increases monotonously, are applied to first and second resultant image signals under the condition that the sum of the weights is 1. The first and second image signals that have been weighted are added up, thus producing a synthetic picture signal. When a luminance level is low, the ratio of the first image signal, which has been produced during the longer exposure time, to the second image signal is increased. This results in an image demonstrating a high signal-to-noise ratio. When the luminance level is high, the ratio of the second image signal, which has been produced during the shorter exposure time, to the first image signal is increased. This results in a synthetic image that proves a wide dynamic range, depicts a smoothly varying brightness level, and exhibits a characteristic of being seen as almost natural. Moreover, the first and second image signals are produced to resemble those produced during mutually different exposure times by controlling an amount of light incident on an imaging device or by varying an amount of illumination light.

Provided is a surgical observational system capable of effectively displaying, in the field of an operating microscope, a real-time image obtained by means of an ultrasonic probe, for example, and a slice image obtained by a preoperative diagnosis on the location of the distal end portion of the probe or a three-dimensional image of an affected region, in association with an actual observational image obtained by means of the microscope. The surgical operation observational system is provided with two monitors in the operating microscope for the observation of the affected region to be operated. Images on the two monitors are alternatively superposed on the optical path of the operating microscope.

In an endoscopic apparatus, when the dynamic range expansion on/off switch is turned on, a CPU changes a switch from one contact over to another. Red, green, and blue digital signals sent from a knee and gamma circuit are output to respective dynamic range expanding circuits. Thus, the dynamic ranges for the digital signals are expanded. On the other hand, when the CPU changes another switch from one contact over to the other, a light adjustment signal output from an operational amplifier is then driven to a level causing a diaphragm in a light source unit to open further. Consequently, an increased amount of illumination light is supplied to the incident end of a light guide running through an endoscope. Thus, when a dynamic range is expanded, a halation effect will not occur in imaging of an object located at a point near the distal end of the endoscope. Moreover, insufficiency of illumination light will not occur in the imaging of an object located at a point far from the endoscope distal end. The dynamic range can therefore be expanded efficiently. An endoscopic image of the interior of a body cavity can be viewed with the body cavity set to a desired brightness level all points ranging from a near point to a far point within the body cavity.

A stereoscopic endoscope including an objective lens system for forming an image of an object which objective lens system is arranged at the front end of an inserting section and has a single optical axis; an image transmission device coaxially arranged with the objective lens system and adapted to transmit the image formed by the objective lens system; a pupil dividing device for dividing the image transmitted through the objective lens system and the image transmission device so as to obtain left and right images of the object; an image sensing device for picking up the left and right images obtained by the pupil dividing device; a first support structure containing at least the objective lens system; and a second support structure containing at least the pupil dividing device and the image sensing device, wherein the first and second support structures are rotatable relative to each other around an axis extending along the longitudinal dimension of the endoscope.
