A medication support apparatus includes a storage unit, an extracting unit, a transfer unit, and a medicine distributing unit. The storage unit is configured to store, in a stacked manner, one-dose packages in each of which medicines are packed. The extracting unit is configured to extract a specific one-dose package from the storage unit. The transfer unit is configured to transfer the one-dose package extracted by the extracting unit. One-dose package transferred by the transfer unit is configured to be arranged on the medicine distributing unit. The extracting unit is configured to be located under the storage unit when the one-dose package is extracted from the storage unit.

A sheet folding apparatus includes a conveyor, a first folding roller, a second folding roller, a third folding roller, a guide, a motor, and a driving force transmission mechanism. The motor causes the second folding roller to perform either forward rotation in which the second folding roller rotates to convey a sheet on a main conveying path in a conveying direction and to convey the sheet on a reflux conveying path from a joining position toward a branching position or backward rotation in a direction opposite to the forward rotation. The driving force transmission mechanism rotates the guide toward a first posture from a second posture in conjunction with the forward rotation of the second folding roller and rotates the guide from the first posture toward the second posture in conjunction with the backward rotation of the second folding roller.

The motor rotates the second folding roller forward to convey the sheet toward the first nip, reverse to convey the sheet toward the second nip, moves the first guide to arrange in the first guide in the first guide posture or the first retracted posture, and moves the second guide to arrange the second guide in the second guide posture or the second retracted posture.

A medium processing apparatus for processing a medium ejected from an image forming apparatus includes a conveyor, a slit, a medium processing device, a stopper, and detectors. The conveyor conveys the medium ejected from the image forming apparatus. The slit communicates with an opening of a housing into which a medium is manually inserted from outside and includes a placement face on which the inserted medium is placed. The placement face has a first side and a second side orthogonal to the first side. The first and second sides are not parallel to a direction in which a side face of the housing extends. The medium processing device processes the medium conveyed by the conveyor or the medium placed on the slit. The stopper regulates edges of the medium along the first and second sides of the placement face. The detectors are disposed on the stopper to detect the medium.

A sheet processing apparatus sandwiches a sheet media in a two-ply sheet in which two sheets are overlaid and bonded together at a portion of the two-ply sheet. The sheet processing apparatus includes a fixing device, a tray, and a roller. The fixing device applies heat and pressure to the two-ply sheet. The tray is disposed downstream from the fixing device in a conveyance direction of the two-ply sheet, to stack the two-ply sheet. A sheet separation device separates a non-bonding portion of a two-ply sheet in which two sheets are overlapped and bonded together at a bonding portion of the two-ply sheet. The sheet separation device includes a winding roller, a conveyance roller pair, and a separation claw. The winding roller rotates and winds the two-ply sheet. The conveyance roller pair conveys the two-ply sheet toward the winding roller. The separation claw is inserted into a gap between the two sheets at a position between the winding roller and the conveyance roller pair. The separation claw is disposed in a space that is bounded by an imaginary plane and includes the winding roller. The imaginary plane passes through a nip of the conveyance roller pair and a winding start position at which the two-ply sheet starts to be wound around the winding roller.

A sheet processing device includes a conveyor, a rotator, a separator, and control circuitry. The conveyor conveys a two-ply sheet in which two sheets are overlapped and bonded together at a portion of the two-ply sheet. The rotator winds the two-ply sheet. The control circuitry causes the conveyor to convey the two-ply sheet in a winding direction to wind the two-ply sheet around the rotator such that a sagging space is created in the two-ply sheet, and causes the separator to insert into the sagging space to separate the two-ply sheet into two sheets. The control circuitry causes the conveyor to convey the two-ply sheet in a direction opposite the winding direction before an insertion of the separator into the sagging space.

At least one of the first or second storage has a multi-tier structure in which a space for movement of the carrier is between tiers. The first support has a cantilever structure in which one end is secured to the second support and another end is free.

The sheet separation device includes a separator that includes a first separator and a second separator. The first separator is inserted into a gap between the two sheets of the two-ply sheet. The second separator is inserted between the two sheets at said another end of the two-ply sheet that is opposite to the one end of the two-ply sheet and moves in a width direction of the two-ply sheet after the first separator is inserted into the gap and relatively moves from the one end to said another end.

The sheet separation device includes a winding roller and a gripper. The winding roller rotates and winds the two-ply sheet to separate the two-ply sheet. The gripper is disposed in the winding roller and configured to grip a gripped portion of the two-ply sheet at one end of the two-ply sheet without abutting a tip of the gripped portion at the one end of the two-ply sheet on a member.
