A left console device () disposed on an entrance (A)-side of a cab () is provided with a gate lock device (). The gate lock device () includes a gate lock lever () which has an operating part (C) to be operated by an operator and is rotationally displaced between a lock position and an unlock position, and a spring member () which urges the gate lock lever () toward the lock position or the unlock position. The spring member () is configured to urge the gate lock lever () toward the unlock position when the operating part (C) of the gate lock lever () is in a height position lower than an upper surface (C) of the left console device () (an upper cover ()) and urges the gate lock lever () toward the lock position when the operating part (C) of the gate lock lever () is in a height position higher than the upper surface (C) of the left console device ().

A lock mechanism is provided in front of each of left and right consoles to fix the console in an optional position. Each of the lock mechanisms is provided with a lock release lever for selecting a lock state of fixing the console and a lock release state of releasing fixation of the console. Each of the lock release levers is provided to extend outward in a left-right direction from the lock mechanism. The lock state is defined by an inclined posture in which a tip end side of the lock release lever is in an oblique downward direction and the lock release state is defined by a horizontal posture in which the tip end sides of the lock release lever is rotated in an upward direction. A hand hold part is provided in front of each of the consoles and above each of the lock release levers to swing the console in the upper-lower direction in the lock release state.

A tilt-up mechanism for tilting up an upper column of a steering column from a drive position to a tilt-up position is configured independently from a tilt angle adjusting mechanism and a column length adjusting mechanism. When an operator who is to get on/off an operator's seat steps on and operates a pedal of the tilt-up mechanism, an engaged state of a lock pin with respect to a tilt-up member is disengaged. The tilt-up member is rotated around a support shaft, by a spring force of a tilt-up spring, whereby the upper column is tilted up together with a steering wheel in a direction (A) away from the operator's seat. At this time, the tilt angle and the column length can be held at positions adjusted in advance.

In a heat exchanger cover () covering upper sides of heat exchanger (), an inlet port () is provided on a left side which is an upstream side of cooling air, and one exhaust port () for exhausting the cooling air which has passed through the heat exchanger () is provided on a right side opposite to this inlet port (). An engine cover () is provided with another exhaust port () at a position opposing the one exhaust port () in a left-right direction. The cooling air which has passed through the heat exchanger () can be exhausted horizontally from the exhaust port () provided in the heat exchanger cover () toward the exhaust port () provided in the engine cover ().

A machine room () is provided between a cab () and a counterweight () which are mounted on a revolving frame () to accommodate an engine (). The machine room () is built of a left front support member (), a rear support member (), a connecting support member () and a left side housing door (). A horizontal grip portion (B) and an inclined grip portion (C) are provided in intermediate portions of the connecting support member () which connects the left front support member () and the rear support member (). By opening the left side housing door (), the inclined grip portion (C) of the connecting support member () comes out, permitting a servicing worker to hold on thereto helping him or her perform a cleaning job of a rear face portion (B) of a cab () in an efficient manner.
