In an ESI sprayer including a pipe connecting jig used to connect an inlet-side pipe and an ESI capillary, a through-hole having an inner diameter corresponding to an outer diameter of the inlet-side pipe at one end and an inner diameter corresponding to an outer diameter of the ESI capillary at another end is formed in an axial direction of a conductive cylindrical body in which at least both ends are plastically deformable, and a gap forming protrusion protruding inward from a circumferential wall of the through-hole is provided in the cylindrical body.

ESI sprayer and ionizer

The mass spectrometer includes an ionization unit, an ion transport unit, and a mass separation unit that separates transported ions according to a mass-to-charge ratio. The ion transport unit includes a transport electrode member, a voltage generator that applies a voltage to the transport electrode member, and a voltage controller that changes a voltage applied to the transport electrode member while ionization is performed. The voltage controller switches between a first voltage state in which charged particles generated in the ionization unit can enter the mass separation unit, and a second voltage state in which the charged particles cannot enter the mass separation unit, and switches a voltage state of the transport electrode member between the first voltage state and the second voltage state.

Mass spectrometer

In the mass spectrometer system, a tip portion of a cylindrical portion () of a capillary () is coated with a coating material (), the tip portion being an injection part for injecting a sample solution to an ionization section. Therefore, it is possible to suppress, by the coating material (), the deformation of the capillary () when the sample solution is injected. In addition, it is possible to suppress the corrosion and the deformation of the capillary () by the coating material (). As a result, the stability of the analysis operation in mass spectrometer system () can be improved.

Ionizer and mass spectrometer system

An ionization chamberis provided between a liquid chromatograph unitand a mass spectrometer, and is formed of: an atomization means; and an ion introducing pipeof which the entrance portion is created within the ionization chamberin the horizontal direction that is perpendicular to the Z direction and of which the exit portion is created within the mass spectrometer unit. A liquid sample that has been fed from the liquid chromatograph unitis sprayed in the Z direction by the atomization meanswhile being ionized within the ionization chamber, wherein the entrance portion has an opening in such a form that corresponds to the spread in the XY plane of the liquid sample sprayed in the Z direction. The sprayed liquid sample is then fed into the mass spectrometer unitwhile being desolvated, which effectively contributes to analysis.
