A fuel injection control device for an internal combustion engine is provided, which comprises: a rpm sensor for detecting an engine speed; an intake pressure sensor for detecting an intake pressure; a throttle sensor for detecting the throttle opening degree; a first basic fuel injection volume calculating device for calculating a first basic fuel injection volume according to a fuel volume calculated by using the engine speed and the intake pressure as parameters; a second basic fuel injection volume calculating device for calculating a second basic fuel injection volume according to a fuel volume calculated by using the engine speed and the throttle opening degree as parameters; and a ratio calculating device for performing arithmetic operations on the first basic fuel injection volume and the second basic fuel injection volume at a desired mixture ratio, and the ratio calculating device gradually changes the mixture ratio at regular time intervals.

Fuel injection control device for internal combustion engine

An ignition control system is provided, which includes: an engine speed detector ( ) for calculating an engine speed according to an engine crank angle signal ( ); a current supply start controller ( ) for outputting a proper current supply start timing signal corresponding to the engine speed to an ignition coil ( ); a current supply finish controller ( ) for outputting a proper current supply timing signal corresponding to the engine speed to an ignition coil; an ignition coil controller ( ) for controlling supply of power to the ignition coil ( ) according to the current supply start timing signal and the current supply finish timing signal; and an overspeed determination device ( ) for outputting an overspeed determination signal when determining that the engine speed is in excess of a predetermined limit value. The overspeed determination signal prohibits starting the supply of current, and retards the current supply finish timing to such a degree as to decrease engine torque.

Ignition control system

A method of manufacturing a rotation sensor is provided. In the method, an insert conductor having a predetermined shape and having at least a connector terminal and a conversion device terminal is provided. The insert conductor is insert-molded in a resin base such that at least the connector terminal and the conversion device terminal of the insert conductor remain exposed from the resin base. A resin connector part is molded such that the resin connector part encircles the connector terminal. Also, a magnetoelectric conversion device is connected to the conversion device terminal of the insert conductor, and positioning parts are provided at a tip of the resin base. In addition, the magnetoelectric conversion device is sandwiched between the positioning parts to securely hold the magnetoelectric conversion device, and a press fit part is formed at the tip of the resin base. Also, an output terminal of the magnetoelectric conversion device is pressed against the conversion device terminal of the insert conductor with the press fit part.

Manufacturing method of a rotation sensor

The invention provides a magnetic object motion sensor which can operate with high accuracy not only when a magnetic object moves at high speeds but also even when it moves at low speeds, which can be produced with a greater production tolerance and a greater dimensional tolerance. The magnetic object motion sensor includes: magnetoelectric transducer elements disposed opposite protrusions of a moving magnetic object; a magnet for generating bias magnetic flux toward the magnetoelectric transducer elements; unbalanced bias producing means for producing imbalance in the magnetic field sensitivity between the magnetoelectric transducer elements; a differential amplifier for amplifying in a differential fashion the electric signals output by the magnetoelectric transducer elements; a waveform shaping circuit for converting the differential signal output by the differential amplifier to a pulse signal corresponding to the edges of the magnetic material protrusion; the unbalanced bias producing means producing a difference in the amplitude of the magnetic flux density between that applied to one element of the pair of magnetoelectric transducer elements and that applied to the other element so that the difference in the electric signal level corresponding to the difference in the amplitude of the magnetic flux density becomes greater than the hysteresis of the waveform shaping circuit, thereby, in effect, introducing imbalance in the sensitivity between the magnetoelectric transducer elements.

Rotating magnetic object motion sensor with unbalanced bias

A magnetic detector to detect a magnetic object's rotation and movement using a magnetoresistive element having hysteresis. The magnetoresistive element is set so as to tilt from the magnetizing direction of a magnet up to a predetermined angle &thgr; between the rotational magnetic object to be detected and the magnet. The magnetic detector provides a high accuracy signal that corresponds to the distance between the rotational magnetic object to be detected and the magnetoresistive element. The signal obtained is independent of the rotational direction or rotational speed of the magnetic object to be detected or the atmospheric temperature of an apparatus. Moreover, the temperature dependency of the output signal (amplitude) of the magnetoresistive element is decreased.

Magnetic detector with a magnetoresistive element having hysteresis

A combustion state detecting apparatus for an internal-combustion engine improves the signal-to-noise ratio of an ionic pulse signal to achieve good interfacing characteristic, high detection accuracy, and high control reliability without adding to cost. An electronic control unit (2A) which detects the combustion state in a spark plug according to an ionic pulse signal (Gi) includes: an edge detecting circuit (36) for detecting an end edge of an ionic pulse contained in the ionic pulse signal in a detection zone from a second reference crank angle to a first reference crank angle; a level detecting circuit (37) for detecting the level of the ionic pulse signal at the first reference crank angle; and a circuit (38) for determining the combustion state of the internal-combustion engine according to a detection result (Ni) received from the edge detecting circuit and a detection result (Li) received from the level detecting circuit. Thus, an ionic current detection signal can be pulsed using a simple circuit configuration, and the simple determining logic is used to reduce the load on the arithmetic processor of the electronic control unit.

Combustion state detecting apparatus for an internal-combustion engine

An exhaust gas recirculation control system for internal combustion engines, comprising an exhaust gas recirculation passage for recirculating a part of an exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine into the engine; an exhaust gas recirculation control valve for controlling a flow rate of the exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust gas recirculation passage; an opening degree controller for controlling an opening degree of the exhaust gas recirculation control valve; an operating condition detector for detecting an operating condition of the engine; means for setting a target exhaust gas recirculation ratio depending on the detected operating condition; a combustion state detector for detecting a combustion state in at least one cylinder of the engine; means for finding an actual exhaust gas recirculation ratio of the engine based on the detected combustion state; and means for controlling the opening degree controller so as to bring the actual exhaust gas recirculation ratio to the target exhaust gas recirculation ratio.

Exhaust gas recirculation control system for internal combustion engines

A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine comprises: driving state detecting means for detecting a driving state of the internal combustion engine based on detected information from various sensors; control calculating means for calculating a control parameter of the internal combustion engine in accordance with the driving state; combustion state detecting means for detecting a combustion state amount of at least one of cylinders of the internal combustion engine; fuel property calculating means for calculating a property of a fuel supplied to the internal combustion engine based on the driving state and the combustion state amount; and parameter correcting means for correcting the control parameter in accordance with the fuel property. With this arrangement, it is possible to calculate the fuel property from an actual combustion state without using a sensor, and to correct the control parameter in accordance with the fuel property, thereby suppressing a deterioration of an exhaust gas, and enhancing a drivability.

Control apparatus for internal combustion engine

A method for manufacturing an inexpensive rotation sensor having excellent performance, high workability, and high reliability is provided. In the method, the rotation sensor is manufactured by providing an insert conductor having a predetermined shape and insert-molding the insert conductor in a resin base such that at least a connector terminal and an conversion device terminal of the insert conductor remains exposed from the resin base. Also, a resin connector part is molded after the resin base is molded such that the resin connector part encircles the connector terminal.

A combustion state detecting apparatus for an internal combustion engine is capable of ensuring a satisfactory ion current detection sensitivity and reliability by preventing discharge of bias voltage to an ignition coil to thereby protect the bias voltage against lowering. The apparatus includes an ignition coil for generating a firing voltage, spark plugs to which the firing high-voltage is applied via a high-voltage supply circuitry connected to an output terminal of the ignition coil, a biasing device connected to the high-voltage supply circuitry for applying a bias voltage to the spark plug, a bias voltage protection device inserted between the output terminal of the ignition coil and the biasing device, an ion current detecting device for detecting ions generated in succession to discharging of the spark plug upon application of the firing high-voltage as an ion current which flows through the spark plug under the bias voltage applied to the spark plug, and an electronic control unit for detecting combustion state on the basis of detected value of the ion current.

Combustion state detecting apparatus for internal combustion engine

A combustion state detecting apparatus for an internal-combustion engine does not incur deteriorated ignition characteristics because the ionic current detecting circuit thereof is not affected by ignition current. The combustion state detecting apparatus is equipped with an ionic current detecting circuit (10A) which includes a biasing device (C) connected to the low voltage end of a secondary winding (2b) of an ignition coil (2) and which detects ionic current (i) flowing from the biasing device via a spark plug (4); rectifying device (5) which is inserted between the biasing device and the secondary winding so that the ionic current flows in the forward direction; a voltage clamping device (6) inserted between the secondary winding and the ground; and an ECU (20) which detects the combustion state according to the ionic current. The biasing device applies a bias voltage (VBi) of the opposite polarity from the high voltage for ignition to the spark; and the voltage clamping device limits a voltage (Vc) at the low voltage end of the secondary winding to a predetermined value when the high voltage for ignition appears, the absolute value of the predetermined value being set to the absolute value or more of the bias voltage.

A magnetic sensor whose electronic components will never become fatally damaged as the result of an external force. In this magnetic sensor, electronic components located near a connector are connected to a base and disposed in such a manner that the longitudinal axis of those electronic components are substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the base. A crack generating region is formed between the connector electronic component disposed near the connector. The crack generating region yields application of an external force on the base.

A sensing device capable of outputting a correct signal precisely corresponding to a particular position (angle) of, for example a protruding or recessed portion of a rotating member made of a magnetic material as soon as the electric power of the sensing device is turned on. The sensing device includes: a magnet for generating a magnetic field; a rotary member of magnetic material for changing the magnetic field generated by the magnet, the rotary member being disposed at a predetermined distance apart from the magnet; a giant magnetoresistance device which changes in resistance in response to the magnetic field whose magnitude is changed by the rotary member of magnetic material; and a differential amplifier for detecting the displacement of said rotary member of magnetic material and also the relative position of said rotary member of magnetic material with respect to said giant magnetoresistance device when said rotary member of magnetic material is at rest, on the basis of the output signal of said giant magnetoresistance device.
