An automated Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) exception processing method, system, and recording medium for facilitating completion of an ATM deposit transaction upon an occurrence of an exception. The method includes remotely monitoring an ATM for the exception by an automated ATM monitoring system over a first communication network, and automatically reporting a detected exception resulting in a failed ATM deposit transaction, by a processor in the automated ATM monitoring system, to both a customer processing system and to a reconstruction transaction system over a second communication network. The process also includes processing a customer claim by the customer processing system based on the failed ATM deposit transaction, and reconstructing the failed ATM deposit transaction by the reconstruction transaction system. The method further incudes reconciling the customer claim with the reconstructed ATM deposit transaction.

The present invention provides for a central fulfillment hub in which all requests from banking customers may be processed by applying a library of policies to systematically resolve the customer requests or engage resources necessary to resolve such requests. A computer-implemented ATM exception processing method and system are provided for facilitating completion of ATM deposit transactions upon occurrence of an exception. The method comprises implementing one or more computer processors for performing steps including: detecting the occurrence of an exception in response to a transaction involving a deposited check at an ATM monitoring system and transmitting transaction information associated with the exception transaction from the ATM monitoring system to a transaction reconstruction system. The method may additionally include transmitting a transaction record of the transaction to a customer claim system, reconstructing the transaction at the reconstruction transaction system, exchanging information between the customer claim system and the transaction reconstruction system, and completing exception processing based on the exchanged information.

Resources, data, and other information compartmentalized in individual business unit systems may be dynamically retrieved as necessary to fulfill the customer request and such retrieval is completed prior to any processing of the customer request for resolution. The disclosed fulfillment system, thus, may open a request, prefetch the necessary information, take steps to resolve the request, and close the request accordingly in a dynamic and efficient manner on a request-by-request basis.
