A computing system configured to execute instructions for a first graphical processing unit (GPU) on a second GPU is provided. The computing system may include the second GPU and a processor. The processor may be configured to receive second GPU state data that indicates one or more global properties of the second GPU. The processor may be further configured to receive one or more binary instructions for texture operation configured to be executed on the first GPU. Based on the second GPU state data, the processor may be further configured to apply a texture value patch to the one or more binary instructions. Applying the texture value patch may translate the one or more binary instructions into one or more translated binary instructions configured to be executed on the second GPU.

Examples described herein improve the quality of the video frames that are rendered and displayed. A system is configured to generate render targets based on instructions received from a source of video content. The system is configured to create and/or access a selection parameter and use the selection parameter to identify one or more of the render targets to be scaled. Once identified, the system scales a native size (e.g., a native resolution) of an identified render target to a larger size (e.g., based on a predetermined scaling factor), thereby generating a higher density render target. The higher density render target, or a corresponding higher density render target texture (RTT), can be used in a rendering pipeline to produce a video frame in a higher output resolution (e.g., 4k resolution) compared to the output resolution specified in the instructions (e.g., 720p resolution).

Automatic editing of video clips detected during the capture of a video data stream. A media editing application identifies video clips as a function of determined property values of each of a series of video frames included in the video. An edit component automatically edits video clips during the capture of the video data stream. A user interface allows the user to view individual video clips during the video capturing process and to define desired transition effects to apply between successive video clips and/or a desired special effect to apply to selected video clips.

Automatic capturing and editing of a video

A media editing application for creating and displaying video effect clips. A detection component detects video files stored in a memory of a computer. A user interface displays the detected video files and various video effects that can be applied to video files. The user interface is responsive to a user selecting one or more of the detected video files to apply a selected video effect to the selected video files to create the video effect clip. The user interface is further responsive to user input to display the video effect clip.

A system and method for generating a 2D transition between a first media object and a second media object. A 3D model is defined corresponding to a desired 2D transition pattern. A graphics processing unit (GPU) or a set of instructions generates a transition between the first media object and the second media object as a function of the defined 3D model. A transition generator maps a plurality of vertices of the first media object to a first mesh creating a first mapped media object where the first mesh relates to the 3D model. The transition generator maps a plurality of vertices of the second media object to a transition pattern mesh creating a second mapped media object where the transition pattern mesh relates to the 3D model. The GPU or the set of instructions renders the transition from the first mapped media object and the second mapped media object.

A method for automatically inserting an interactive HTML object into an existing web page without the user having any knowledge of programming in HTML or server-side scripts. The method is contained in a utility and referred as &ldquo;WEB Content Customization&rdquo; (WCC). The WCC utility is launched from a web authoring tool, such as a desktop publishing computer program, when the user selects the option to insert interactive HTML object into their web page. The WCC utility provides a user with the ability to customize their web page by inserting interactive HTML object using the same web site authoring computer program module, such as a desktop publishing computer application program that was used to create the web page. The WCC utility creates a dialog box in the web-authoring tool and opens the remote site in the dialog box. The dialog contains at least one window that displays a list of the available interactive HTML object that the user may select. Once the user selects an interactive HTML object, the WCC utility then transfers the associated block of HTML code from the remote site to the web-authoring tool, where the block of HTML is inserted directly into the electronic file.

The objects are arranged into overlap groups. Each overlap group is bound by a rectangle (perimeter) and contains objects that, as a group, overlap each other while each overlap group does not overlap any other overlap group. Thus, the page is divided into distinct regions within each non-overlapping rectangle that contain the objects as laid out on the page. The boundaries of each rectangle provides the location for horizontal and vertical lines. These lines define rows and columns of a framework. The intersection of each row and column is a cell, used as a cell in the table representing the page. HTML elements are emitted into an HTML stream in order to define the layout of cells in the table and to populate each cell as either empty or with HTML elements representing the overlap group corresponding to the location of the cell. The HTML elements representing non-empty cells are either native text elements (if possible) or image elements (if native text does not preserve the layout of the overlap group corresponding to the non-empty cell). Therefore, the HTML elements represent and preserve the layout of objects within each overlap group in a memory efficient manner. Additional HTML elements can be added to a cell to preserve existing hyperlinks. Furthermore, nested tables can be created within a single cell of a larger table in order to provide text adornments associated with objects on the page in an efficient manner

The present invention includes a document control interface method for graphical message document computer software. The method is performed by a computer system executing graphical message document software for creating relatively brief documents, such as greeting cards, having relatively simple text and graphics elements. The method includes providing a user with an iconographic interface that allows a user to access directly selected portions of a graphical message document. A preferred embodiment of this invention includes rendering a selection icon for each of multiple pages of a graphical message document being edited. Each of the selection icons is separately selectable by a user with a conventional input device, such as a mouse or some other cursor control device.

Document control interface and method for graphical message document

A system and methods for wrapping a closed polygon around an object represented in a computer system, where the closed polygon is substantially adjacent to the object without intersecting or clipping the object. The system and methods are especially useful for fitting text close to the object in a word processor or page layout system. The method involves dividing the object into a number of horizontal threshold bands. Four points are sequentially positioned within each threshold band along the edge of the object in the band. The first and last points are located proximate to the object on the horizontal boundaries of the threshold band, but do not intersect the object. The middle points are located at the intersections of three defined lines. In this configuration, line segments between any of the four points do not and cannot intersect the object. The step of placing four points along the side of the object within a threshold band is repeated within each of the threshold bands along both sides of the object to form a set of polygon points. This set of polygon points is then sequentially connected to form the closed polygon that wraps around the object. Text can then be flowed around the object without any clipping of the object.
