A structure for a compression driver motor assembly which utilizes a pot with an integral top plate and a pole cap, thereby reducing magnetic losses and permitting manufacture of a driver structure with fewer parts and reduced weight. A more efficient process for manufacture of the motor assembly is also disclosed. The pot is manufactured with an integral top plate which is adapted for use with a large pole cap. The pole cap is affixed to the top of a permanent magnet and forms the magnetic gap with the top of the pot. The magnetic circuit of the driver thus includes a permanent magnet, a pot, a magnetic gap and the pole cap. The motor assembly is assembled in a process requiring fewer steps and less elaborate tooling than the motor assembly of the prior art.

Compression driver motor structure

This loudspeaker mounting system provides an enclosure (10) which is intended for installation into a drywall ceiling (12). The enclosure (10) includes an upper wall (16), and an annular lower flange (18) interconnected by a cylindrical sidewall (20). The sidewall includes a circumferentially spaced generally tee-shaped slots (30) each receiving an individual support bracket member (32) having a generally ell-shaped forward portion (54) and a slotted rearward portion (56). Inwardly projecting threaded fasteners (52) are attached to the sidewall adjacent each slot (30) to receive the slotted transverse portion (56). When the bracket member forward portions (54) are inserted into the sidewall (20) the bracket members can be guided into engagement with the ceiling (12) so that the ceiling is sandwiched between the flange (18) and the individual bracket members (32).

Loudspeaker mounting system

The speaker support assembly includes a speaker connected to a baffle and brackets connected to the speaker and baffle. The baffle is located below a ceiling panel with the speaker extending through the ceiling panel. Support rods are attached to the brackets above the ceiling panel for supporting the speaker and baffle. The brackets include opposed wings through which the support rods extends. Bolts are used for attaching the rods to web portions of the brackets which are located intermediate to the wing portions. The support rods extend the width of the ceiling panel.
