A gearbox for a wind turbine includes a ring wheel unit provided in a housing; a driving shaft designed to be coupled to the rotor of the wind turbine and a single main bearing or a pair of main bearings which rotatably support the driving shaft in the housing. The ring wheel unit is formed of a sun wheel, a planet wheel, ring wheel which is fixed to the housing in a non-rotating manner and a planet carrier which is rigidly connected to the driving shaft. An additional bearing rotatably supports the planet carrier or the driving shaft relative to the housing. Between the part of the housing having the main bearing or the main bearings and the part of the housing with the additional bearing and the ring wheel, an elastic part is provided with relative torsional stiffness, yet relatively flexible to loads in the axial and/or radial direction.

Gear transmission unit with planetary gears

A gearbox for a wind turbine which consists of a housing and a gear wheel transmission with an ingoing shaft having at least one driving gear wheel which is or can be connected to the rotor of the wind turbine, characterized in that, in the unloaded condition of the gearbox, the axis of symmetry of the seating or seatings of the bearing of the ingoing shaft in the housing does not coincide with the geometrical axis of symmetry of the gear wheel transmission, as a result of which there will be a certain deviation between the abovementioned axes of symmetry in the unloaded condition which is such that, in a static, loaded condition, in other words under the weight of the rotor, the alignment error which is caused by the weight of the rotor is at least partially compensated.

A planetary gear wheel construction with one or several planet wheels which are bearing-mounted on a planet carrier, which is provided in a rotating manner in a housing, and an oil lubrication formed of an oil supply via a ring-shaped channel in the housing formed of a ring-shaped groove and a distribution element turning along with the planet carrier which is rotatably held in the groove, and which is provided with a passage to connect the oil channel to an oil channel in the planet carrier which opens at a planet wheel. The distribution element is coupled to the planet carrier by a loose connection which makes it possible to transmit the rotational movement of the planet carrier to the distribution element, and the oil channel in the planet carrier is connected to the passage in the distribution element by a flexible or moving oil pipe.

A roller bearing () includes a plurality of bearing rollers () located between confronting bearing surfaces (), the bearing surfaces being rotatable one relative to the other about the rotational axis of the bearing, and the bearing including biasing elements () which provides a force acting in a direction between the confronting bearing surfaces () whereby, under all load conditions for which the bearing is designed for use, each bearing roller is retained in contact with each of the confronting bearing surfaces.
