An electrical connector 6 comprises, an insulative housing block 7 containing multiple, spaced apart, conductive electrical contacts 9 for connection with corresponding conductors 3 of electrical wiring 2, and for disconnect coupling with corresponding multiple electrical terminals 14 arranged in an array, the housing block 7 includes at least one recess 16 without an electrical contact therein, said recess 16 is open for pluggable receipt of a corresponding said electrical terminal 14, a flexible lanyard 18 extends in a loop 19, said loop 19 is anchored to said housing block 7, and said loop 19 extends into said recess 16 and is anchored therein.

An electrical connector assembly for connection to an electrical cable comprises; an insulative housing block, conductive signal contacts on the housing block, a ground bus on the housing block connected to at least one selected signal contact, wire connecting portions of the signal contacts appear at corresponding first openings formed in the housing block, wire connecting portions of the ground bus appear at corresponding second openings of the housing block, and the housing block is formed to surround and insulate each of the signal contacts to allow insertion of the signal contacts into an insulative housing.

An electrical cable assembly 1 comprises, electrical contacts 9 mounted in an insulative housing 8, the contacts 9 are connected to signal wires 4 of an electrical cable 2, a ground bus 7 connected to ground wires 5 of the cable 2, the wires 4,5 are bent to extend toward a cable entry side 15 or 16 of the assembly 1, the ground bus 7 is connected by tabs 14 to selected contacts 9', and the tabs 14 offset the ground bus 7 to a side of the assembly 1.

A wiring device is disclosed of the type having a dielectric housing portion into which the individual conductors of a multi-conductor cable are electrically connected. The housing portion is encircled by a mounting bracket suitable for stud or bracket mounting and convertible to wallboard mounting by, first removing a frangible finger portion of the bracket and then assembling the finger portion over a corner portion of the bracket by a threaded fastener. The wiring device is then inserted in a wallboard opening from the front side. The fastener is turned and the finger is pivoted on the fastener until it projects outwardly of the wiring device. Continued turning of the fastener advances the finger therealong into gripped engagement on the back side of the wallboard, mounting the wiring device securely to the wallboard.
