Systems, methods, and computer-readable media, for facilitating control of network loads are provided. In embodiments of the present invention, network data associated with a plurality of base stations within a communications network are monitored. Upon identifying that a network load associated with a base station exceeds a network load threshold, an indication that a user device utilizing the base station that exceeds the network load threshold to communicate should transfer to another base station that fails to exceed the network load threshold is provided.

Controlling network load

Methods and systems are provided for a femtocell to provide local access to a remote data store. The method includes a femtocell receiving a registration request and a device identifier from a wireless communication device. Responsive to receiving the request, the femtocell may provide the wireless communication device with wireless service and may use the device identifier to cause a network share to be created on a local network to which the femtocell is coupled. The network share may then provide a second device on the local network with access to a remote data store associated with the wireless communication device. After detecting an absence or de-registration of the wireless communication device, the femtocell may remove the network share.

Use of femtocell registration to create local network

A configuration message is received from a first computer system. In response to the configuration message, a first wireless device is enumerated on the first computer system as locally attached mass storage. A registration message is sent to a wireless network. File information about a shared file is received from a second wireless device. The second wireless device is enumerated on a second computer system as locally attached mass storage. A shared block of data is received from the second wireless device. The shared block of data is sent to the first computer system as data that is stored on a locally attached mass storage device.

Embodiments disclosed herein provide systems and methods that allow a mobile device to fully access unified communication services of a carrier. In a particular embodiment, a control system receives a call for a unified communications service and determines whether the mobile device is associated with the unified communication service. If the mobile device is not associated with the unified communication service, then the call is connected to a unified communication system to provide access to a first portion of the unified communication service. If the call is associated with the services, then the call is assigned a virtual number and connected to an intermediate communication system, which determines at least a second portion of the unified communication service associated with the virtual number. The call is then connected to the unified communication system to provide access to the first and second portions of the unified communication service.

An application repository is provided. The application repository comprises a first computer having a processor and a memory, a data store, a plurality of applications stored in the data store, and a billing apportionment module stored in the memory. Each application contains an instruction to invoke a run-time license tracking application programming interface (API), the plurality of applications comprising a first application. The billing apportionment module, when executed by the processor, receives a first run-time license tracking report generated by invocation of the run-time license tracking application programming interface by the first application executing on one of a second computer and a mobile electronic device, determines a first application usage fee to bill to an account associated with a user of the first application, bills the first application usage fee to the account associated with a user of the first application, determines a first usage fee share based in part on the first application usage fee and on the first run-time tracking report, and transfers the first usage fee share to an account associated with the first application.

Application development and execution framework

The invention is directed to the optimization of power to increase a coverage area between a mobile device and the wireless communications network. Once it is determined that coverage is to be increased, a scheduling request is communicated to an access component (e.g., base station, eNodeB). The access component then sends a scheduling grant to the mobile device indicating that coverage will be increased. The determination to increase coverage is based on a total time delay of a packet sent from one device to another device, and a quality of the current voice or data session.

Dynamic power optimization to increase coverage

A communication system, media, and methods that proxy location information to location unaware devices are provided. The communication system includes a wireless device that connects to a cellular network and personal area network. The cellular network includes a Global Positioning System server that provides location information based on the current location of the wireless device. A location-unaware device communicates with the wireless device to receive location information via the wireless device when the wireless device is within a predetermined distance of the location-unaware device. The location unaware device connects to a service database to store the location information and queries the service database to complete communication requests generated by a plain-old-telephone-system device that is connects to the location unaware device.

Systems, methods, and software for operating environmental sensor systems are provided herein. In one example, a method is provided that includes monitoring environmental conditions to detect a trigger condition and transferring an access request for delivery to a data system responsive to the trigger condition. The method also includes receiving a security challenge transferred by the data system, and in response, transferring a security answer for delivery to the data system that includes a hash result generated using one of the security keys, and receiving a security grant transferred by the data system indicating one of the hash results. The method also includes selecting an environmental sensor function based on an association with one of the security keys used to generate the hash result indicated in the security grant, performing the environmental sensor function to obtain sensor data, and transferring the sensor data for delivery to the data system.

Authenticating environmental sensor systems based on security keys in communication systems

A delivery system, media, and method for communicating content to devices are provided. The delivery system includes a services aggregator and content aggregator for processing requests from the devices. The services aggregator processes the request to identify credentials for the devices that generate the request and to identify providers of content specified in the request. The content aggregator receives the content from the identified providers and formats the content based on limits imposed by the device. Because the devices are configured to allow the services aggregator and content aggregator to perform computational-intensive tasks associated with requesting and transmitting the content, the complexity and cost of the devices are minimized.

Delivering content to mobile clients

Portable mobile devices may have ambient light sensors (ALS) capable of modulating the level of backlight on the display of the portable electronic device in various environmental situations. The ALS is capable of receiving an infrared signal or a visible light signal that may then be read to determine an end and a beginning, and parsed to extract the code. The information sent from the infrared or visible light source to the portable electronic device may be handled by the device in various ways including direct processing and display to present the user of the portable electronic device with a coupon, offer, or other benefit. This may occur in several ways including displaying a coupon or an offer, launching a URL or URI, or launching an application on the portable electronic device.

In systems and methods of controlling a connection between a wireless device and an access point, it is determined that a first wireless device is not authorized to connect to an access point of a first data network. A message is transferred to a second wireless device by a second data network requesting permission for the first wireless device to connect to the access point. A message can be received from the second wireless device granting the first wireless device permission to connect to the access point.

A communication system receives a communication for a phone number and determines if the phone number is shared by a wireless phone and a packet appliance. If the phone number is shared, then the communication system determines if the wireless phone is logged-in to a wireless network and if the packet appliance is logged-in to a packet network. If the wireless phone is logged-in, then the communication system transfers the communication to the wireless network for delivery to the wireless phone. If the packet appliance is logged-in, then the communication system transfers the communication to the packet network for delivery to the packet appliance. The communication may be simultaneously transferred to the wireless network and the packet network if the phone number is shared and the wireless phone and the packet appliance are both logged-in.

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating call continuity when transferring calls between mobile access networks to voice over internet protocol networks. The method includes recognizing availability of a voice over internet protocol network during a voice call established via a wireless access network. Thereafter, a data connection between a user device and the voice over internet protocol network is established. A transfer of the voice call from the wireless access network to the voice over internet protocol network is initiated by initiating a three-way call. Such a three-way call includes a first portion routed to a destination device via a public switch telephone network and a second portion routed to the user device via the voice over internet protocol network.
