Provided is a Precision Voltage Reference (PVR). In one example, the PVR includes a resonator having an oscillation frequency, the resonator including a first proof-mass, a first forcer located adjacent a first side of the first proof-mass, and a second forcer located adjacent a second side of the first proof-mass. The PVR may include control circuitry configured to generate a reference voltage based on the oscillation frequency of the resonator, at least one converter configured to receive the reference voltage from the control circuitry, provide a first bias voltage to the first forcer based on the reference voltage, provide a second bias voltage to the second forcer based on the reference voltage, and periodically alter a polarity of the first and second bias voltages to drive the oscillation frequency to match a reference frequency, and an output configured to provide the reference voltage as a voltage reference signal.

Radiation-hard precision voltage reference

An adaptive impedance matching network to implement an impedance match between an RF power device and an antenna comprises a matching network having at least one tunable component, a current sensor providing a current value corresponding to the supply current associated with the RF power device, a power sensor configured to provide an RF power sensor value monotonically related to power delivered to the antenna, and a tuner to provide a tuning signal to the matching network as a function of the current and RF power values. The tuner may adjust the tuning signal so that the RF power sensor value is at least as large as for other settings of the tuning signal, while maintaining the supply current at a predetermined amount corresponding to an amount of supply current occurring when the RF power device is driving a load that produces the desired RF output power and amplifier efficiency.

Low-loss compact transmit impedance matching tuning technique

Systems and methods for performing neighbor discovery in a network () including a number of nodes are provided. A first node () in the network () generates a spread signal for alerting other nodes in the network () of the presence of the first node (). The first node (110) broadcasts the signal and a second node () receives the signal and calculates an energy associated with the received signal. The second node () also determines whether the energy is greater than a threshold and identifies the first node () as a neighbor node when the energy is greater than the threshold.

Systems and methods for beaconing in wireless networks with low probability of detection

A method and system for estimating the location of an injection point of foreign signals in a network comprises the steps of measuring signal samples at two points along the cable network distribution system, correlating the two signal samples to estimate propagation delay differences between the measurement locations and the source, and calculating the location and magnitude of the ingress. The propagation delay, or time correlation, is proportional to the offset of the injection point from the midpoint between the measurement sites, where the two parameters are related by the velocity of propagation in the cable. The amplitude of the correlation peaks represent the magnitude of the ingress at that location. Sensitivity may be increased by time-averaging the output of the correlation step. Multiple sources and/or ingress and egress sites may be measured simultaneously.

Methods and systems for the estimation of the injection point of foreign signals in a network

A method is provided for monitoring transmission signal interference in a bi-directional transmission/reception system in which a modulated signal received at a receiver location is subjected at the receiver location to analog to digital (A/D) conversion by an A/D converter , an output of which is routed to an input of a digital demodulator for demodulation. The method includes the steps of accessing the output of the A/D converter before the output is subjected to demodulation by the demodulator and storing the accessed data in a storage buffer . The data stored in the storage buffer is available for inspection to assist in determining the presence of signal interference.

Method and apparatus for remote identification of transmission channel interference

A telephone network interface device that provides at least two drop-wire connection ports and two distribution cable ports. One drop wire port provides full bandwidth service with the second port providing telephone service only, reducing radio frequency ingress and egress magnitudes. Bridging options allow limited bandwidth or full bandwidth communication between distribution cable ports.

Methods and systems for measuring the reflection coefficient of a network are disclosed. The methods and systems measure the reflection coefficient by exciting a device under test with a driving signal. The driving signal incident on the device under test is measured and the source providing the driving signal is removed thereafter. A signal reflected from the device under test is sampled at a sample rate that may differ from the frequency of the driving signal. The reflection coefficient of the device under test is calculated by dividing the measured level of the reflected signal by the measured level of the driving signal.

Apparatus and method for assessing leakage from cable networks

A connector for cutting and connecting an insulated cable having an insulation layer encasing at least one conductor that includes an upper member, and a lower member adapted for receiving the upper member including at least one insulation displacement connector to establish electrical connection with the conductor of the insulated cable, an instrument with a sharp edge to sever the conductor, and a rigid member to separate one end of the severed conductor from the other end of the severed conductor, wherein the upper member and the lower member secure both ends of the severed cable, to electrically connect a distribution cable to local terminals of access lines or subscriber lines and simultaneously cut the distribution cable to remove a bridged tap from the subscriber lines. The connector may additionally include a second blade and second plurality of insulation displacement connectors to allow the installation of terminal taps on both the Central Office side and field side, the connections of the latter being reserved for future use.
