The present invention provides a display device including a display panel having a display surface, a polarizer disposed on the display surface, a first phase retardation layer disposed on one side of the polarizer opposite to the display surface, a polymerized cholesteric material layer disposed on one side of the first phase retardation layer opposite to the display surface, a second phase retardation layer disposed on one side of the polymerized cholesteric material layer opposite to the display surface, and a switchable polarizer disposed on one side of the second phase retardation layer opposite to the display surface. A first optical axis of the first phase retardation layer is orthogonal to a second optical axis of the second phase retardation layer. A first absorption axis of the polarizer is in the same direction as a second absorption axis of the switchable polarizer. The polarity of the switchable polarizer can be turned on or off according to a display state or a non-display state of the display panel, respectively.

Display device

A scenario projection system and a controlling method thereof are provided. The scenario projection system includes a display device, a reflective device and a scenario light source. The display device is configured to show an image on the screen area of the display device. The scenario light source disposed on a slide rail is to project a scenario beam to the screen area where the reflective device is disposed within. The reflected scenario beam by the reflective device is to form a characteristic image outside the screen area, wherein there is a linkage relationship between the image and the characteristic image.

Scenario projection system and controlling method thereof

A display device includes a backlight module, a liquid crystal layer, a lower polarizer, an upper polarizer, and a retardation layer. The liquid crystal layer is disposed on a lighting side of the backlight module while the lower polarizer is disposed between the liquid crystal layer and the backlight module. The upper polarizer is disposed on a side of the liquid crystal layer opposite to the lower polarizer, and the retardation layer is between the upper and lower polarizers. The retardation layer has a retardation area that may modulates the light passing through the lower polarizer and make the light passes through the upper polarizer.

Display device including a retardation layer

The present invention provides a display device including a display panel and a haze layer. The display panel includes a plurality of pixels and a color determining surface. The orthogonal projection of each of the plurality of pixels onto the color determining surface forms a plurality of adjacent pixel ranges. The haze layer is disposed on a side of the color determining surface and has a haze surface facing away from the color determining surface. The haze layer has a scattering coefficient ranging from &#x2212;1.4 to 0. The haze surface includes a first location corresponding to the center of the first pixel range, and a second location corresponding to a location away from the first edge towards the second pixel range wherein the distance therebetween ranges from 87 &#x3bc;m to 174 &#x3bc;m.

Display device with haze layer

An anti-glare and anti-reflection device including a base and an anti-reflection film is provided. The base includes a plurality of micro protrusions. The micro protrusions are connected to each other to form a rough surface. The rough surface has a first point furthest from a display surface and a second point closest to the display surface. A distance between the first point and the second point in a normal direction of the display surface is HD, and 1 &#x3bc;m&#x2264;HD&#x2264;20 &#x3bc;m. A normal projection of each of the micro protrusions on the display surface has a first axis length R1 and a second axis length R2, 1 &#x3bc;m&#x2264;R1&#x2264;20 &#x3bc;m, and 1 &#x3bc;m&#x2264;R2&#x2264;20 &#x3bc;m. The anti-reflection film is disposed on the rough surface. The anti-reflection film has a thickness T in a normal direction of the rough surface, and T/H&#x2264;0.1.

Anti-glare and anti-reflection device

A transparent stereo display includes a first substrate, a second substrate, a common electrode, a display medium, and a patterned phase retardation film. A plurality of pixel structures is disposed on the first substrate. The pixel structures include a plurality of right eye pixel structures and left eye pixel structures. Each pixel structure includes a display region, a first region, and a second region. The patterned phase retardation film includes right eye polarized patterns and left eye polarized patterns. The right eye polarized patterns are disposed corresponding to the right eye pixel structures, and the left eye polarized patterns are disposed corresponding to the left eye polarized patterns. An edge of each right eye polarized pattern overlaps with the second region of the corresponding right eye pixel structure. An edge of each left eye polarized pattern overlaps with the second region of the corresponding left eye pixel structure.

Transparent stereo display and operation method thereof

A method for manufacturing phase retarder film includes steps of providing a substrate; forming an alignment layer on the substrate, the alignment layer having at least a first phase region, at least a second phase region and at least a third phase region, the third phase region being disposed between the first phase region and the second phase region, and a phase retardation of the third phase region being different from phase retardations of the first phase region and the second phase region. The phase retardation of the first phase region is different from the phase retardation of the second phase region.

Method for manufacturing phase retarder film

A display device includes a display panel and a phase retarder film disposed on the display panel. The display panel has a first pixel region, a second pixel region and a third pixel region disposed between the first pixel region and the second pixel region. The phase retarder film has a first phase region, a second phase region and a third phase region disposed between the first phase region and the second phase region. The first phase region is disposed corresponding to the first pixel region, the second phase region is disposed corresponding to the second pixel region, and the third phase region is disposed corresponding to the third pixel region. A phase retardation of the third phase region is different from phase retardations of the first phase region and the second phase region. A method for manufacturing the phase retarder film is also provided.
