A method of preventing a flow pattern in a wet-type color image forming apparatus and a system adopting the same includes a material layer directly contacting a developing roller of a developing unit of a photosensitive body of the image forming apparatus and having a thickness of 7&#x2013;15 &#x3bc;m. A size of an essential composition used for representing corresponding one of colors in high-concentration ink is 0.7&#x2013;1.5 &#x3bc;m. A hold up volume is not formed between the developing roller and the photosensitive body during a developing process, and a flow pattern such as a stripe, is not formed in a final image, and even though the flow pattern is formed in the final image, the flow pattern can be minimized.

A developing apparatus for a liquid type printer includes a developing tank in which ink with a high density supplied from an ink supplying unit is received up to a predetermined level. The developing apparatus also includes a developing roller which is positioned to rotate in the developing tank and keep a predetermined developing gap from a photosensitive medium, and to supply the ink to the photosensitive medium. The developing apparatus includes a metering unit which is rotated in the ink in the developing tank to control an amount of the ink conveyed to the developing roller and moved to the developing gap, and a cleaning roller which cleans the ink remaining after the ink is conveyed from the developing roller to the photosensitive medium.

A squeegee apparatus of a liquid electrophotographic printer is provided. The apparatus has a squeegee roller for pressing a photoreceptor belt to squeegee excess developer from an image developed on the transfer surface of the photoreceptor belt. A squeegee backup roller is provided opposite to the squeegee roller, to press a reverse surface of the photoreceptor belt. The squeegee apparatus includes a heating device installed in the squeegee backup roller, for heating the photoreceptor belt at a predetermined temperature. During printing, since the photoreceptor belt is squeegeed while it is heated to a predetermined temperature, the squeegeeing efficiency is enhanced, thereby improving the printing quality of the printer.

A developing device, of a wet type printer, provided with a reservoir for holding developer liquid. A developing roller is installed at an upper region of the reservoir, and contacts a photosensitive belt. A cleaning device for cleaning the developing roller, is in contact with the developing roller. An auxiliary reservoir is installed below the developing roller, and within the reservoir, to hold a predetermined amount of the developer liquid in which the lower portion of the developing roller is immersed to a predetermined depth. The cleaning device is installed within the auxiliary reservoir to be immersed in the developer liquid and is provided with a rotating shaft and a brush installed around the circumferential surface of the rotating shaft. The developing roller is effectively cleaned, by the cleaning device, and particles adhering to the developing roller are easily removed. The removed particles are then recovered and used again in subsequent printing operations.

Therefore, the overall configuration becomes simplified, thereby reducing the fabrication cost, as well as making maintenance and repair thereof easy.

In a squeeze roller assembly of a wet type developer of an electrophotographic printer, a shaft is rotatably installed in a frame. A first roller is fixed on the shaft for filming solid toner from a developing liquid onto a photosensitive belt. Second rollers are rotatably installed on the same shaft at both sides of the first roller. The first roller, attached to the central portion of the imaging surface of a photosensitive belt, rotates in the same direction as that of the conveying direction of the photosensitive belt. The second roller rotates in a direction opposite to the direction of the photosensitive belt by an inverse rotator. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the required installation space by having the first and second rollers share a common shaft as a rotating axis.

The printer further includes a tube for pressing the ink film and paper sheet against the drum, the tube containing the printing head therein and being formed of a transparent material, and a device for supporting the tube so that the tube comes into contact with the drum. In the above printer, it is possible to print image data on the entire paper sheet without producing margins in the upper and lower portions of the paper sheet, to precisely transport the paper sheet, and to keep the distance between the laser head and the ink film constant, thereby preventing the wasting of paper and obtaining a clear picture.
