A curtain airbag of a vehicle is provided adjacent to the roof of the vehicle in a folded state, is configured to have a shape that unfolds downward between an inner side surface of the vehicle and an occupant when the vehicle crashes, and includes an outer panel that proceeds toward the side surface of the vehicle and an inner panel that proceeds toward the occupant upon expansion. The curtain airbag further includes a head support part configured to have a shape in which an expansion thickness, which is defined by the outer panel and the inner panel in a portion that the head of the occupant contacts due to the car crash, gradually increases toward the front of the vehicle, so as to prevent the head of the occupant from rotating while moving toward the front of the vehicle. The curtain airbag may effectively stop the head of the occupant from rotating while moving toward the front of the vehicle during a vehicle crash.

An airbag system for a vehicle is provided. The system includes an airbag cushion that is deployed from the upper portion of a seatback to cover the head of an occupant, thereby absorbing impacts applied to the head of the occupant and preventing neck bending attributable to movement of the head of the occupant. In addition, injury to the occupant is minimized by variably adjusting the deployment timing of the airbag cushion depending on the collision direction of the vehicle.

Provided is a side impact airbag which is deployed between two seats in the width direction of a vehicle to thereby prevent passengers seated on the two seats from colliding with each other. The airbag is configured to, when being fully inflated, form recesses on both sides thereof to accommodate the shoulders and arms of the passengers, such that the fully inflated airbag is configured to be maintained in a certain posture by the pressure applied to the shoulders and arms of the passengers accommodated in the recesses.

A frontal center curtain airbag for a vehicle may include a pair of housing frames spaced from each other in forward and rearward directions to cross the vehicle in a widthwise direction of the vehicle, a plurality of connecting frames connecting upper ends and opposite side ends of the spaced housing frames in forward and rearward directions to form an installation space together with the housing frames, an airbag cushion installed in the installation space and surrounded by the housing frames and the connecting frames, and an airbag door coupled to lower ends of the housing frames and the connecting frames to close a lower end of the installation space.

A knee air bag for a vehicle has an inflator, a diffuser and a cushion to protect a passenger's knee when the cushion is deployed. The knee air bag also includes an inflator connector which is provided on a back of the cushion, and an external tether which is provided on an upper portion of the inflator connector and secured at lower and upper ends thereof to the back of the cushion, thus guiding the cushion so that the cushion is deployed upwards. The knee air bag makes the cushion come into close contact with a seatback of the vehicle when the knee air bag is deployed, thus reducing interference with a roof air bag located at an upper position, therefore preventing a passenger's head or neck from suffering secondary injuries.

An airbag apparatus for a vehicle may include an inflator, and an airbag cushion having a depressed head support portion formed in a rear portion of the airbag cushion so that when the airbag cushion may be deployed by gas supplied from the inflator, the head support portion receives a head of a passenger, and shoulder support portions protruding from lateral sides of the head support portion in a rearward direction and forming a space between the shoulder support portions to have the head support portion therebetween when the airbag cushion may be deployed, and a support tether provided in the airbag cushion and extending in a transverse direction across the shoulder support portions such that a gas path may be defined in a front portion of the airbag cushion below the support tether, the gas path guiding the gas downwards.
