Various embodiments include a fire or smoke alarm comprising: a detection arrangement arranged within an alarm housing; and an alarm-housing cover having, on an inner side, a plurality of housing ribs pointing radially in the direction of an alarm dome. The detection arrangement comprises a level divider with an opening. A maximum possible spacing between two points on a peripheral line of the opening or on a common peripheral line of a plurality of openings is larger than a diameter of the alarm dome. The peripheral line of the opening or the common peripheral line of a plurality of openings in the level divider extends beyond the alarm dome of the alarm-housing cover on all sides.

Fire or smoke alarm

The present disclosure relates to fire detectors. For example, a fire detector may include: a housing with a smoke inlet; a detection unit for specific fire parameters; an analyzing unit for generating a fire alarm; a light transmitter; and a light receiver connected to the analyzing unit for monitoring the smoke inlet for impermissible pollution. The light transmitter and the light receiver comprise a scattered light arrangement with a scattered light volume near the smoke inlet and susceptible to pollution. A part of a light bundle traverses the region without striking adjacent housing parts, or a part of the light strikes a housing part and the housing part deflects the second part of the light bundle away from the light receiver or absorbs it. The analyzing unit sends a service message if the scattered light detected by the light receiver exceeds a threshold value.

An interference object is identified in a scatter volume of an optical fire detector, which operates according to the scattered light principle. To achieve a higher level of interference protection using a simple structure in a compact fire detector, a common scatter volume is used instead of separate scatter volumes.

A smoke alarm has a base element with a flat mounting surface, a light emitter that is attached to the mounting surface and that is configured to issue an illuminating light, and a light receiver that is attached to the mounting surface next to the light emitter and that is configured to receive a measurement light that results from a back-scattering of the illumination light at a measurement object located in a detection space. A data processing device is coupled to an output of the light receiver and configured to evaluate temporal changes of an output signal issued by the light receiver. A sensor apparatus for optically detecting an object includes (a) a first emitting device, configured to emit a first emission beam, (b) a first receiving device, configured to receive a first reception beam, (c) a second receiving device, configured to receive a second reception beam, and (d) an evaluation unit connected downstream of the first receiving device and the second receiving device. The first reception beam and/or the second reception beam contains scattered light which is produced when an at least partial scattering of the first transmission beam occurs at the object. The evaluation unit is coupled to the first receiving device and the second receiving device so as to receive a difference signal between a first output signal of the first receiving device and a second output signal of the second receiving device. The sensor apparatus may be incorporated in a proximity sensor and a danger warning system.
