Systems and methods for engine imaging are provided. An imaging system includes an optical sensor coupled to an insertion tool and a light source configured to output alight projection onto a component of the engine assembly. The system includes a processor configured to: receive data comprising a plurality of frames from the optical sensor captured while the component of the engine assembly is rotating, determine an angular displacement of the component between frames, and form a 3D point cloud of the component based on combining the data in the frames based on the angular displacement of the component between the frames.

3D imaging for engine assembly inspection

A control circuit accesses three-dimensional image information for a given three-dimensional object. The control circuit accesses a selection corresponding to a feature of the three-dimensional object, and then automatically generates a plurality of synthetic images of the three-dimensional object as a function of the three-dimensional and the selection of the aforementioned feature. By one approach, these synthetic images include supplemental visual emphasis corresponding to the aforementioned feature. The generated plurality of synthetic images can then be used as a training corpus when training a machine learning model.

A method of processing image data of a scanned object includes performing, in integer format, a pixel offset correction on the image data using unsigned saturation arithmetic to produce an image in integer format having negative value pixels clipped to a value of zero. The resulting pixels are converted to floating point format and are multiplied by a positive floating point gain factor. The resulting pixels are further converted to integer format and clamped to a maximum value using saturation arithmetic. Non-functional pixel correction is performed in integer format, and the resulting pixel values are clamped to a maximum value using saturation arithmetic. The resulting pixel value is mapped in integer format to a palette index using a lookup table to establish an output pixel intensity having one of a plurality of intensity levels.

System and method for real-time processing and display of digital medical images

A device for measuring the color of a sample is provided comprising: a camera for transforming received light into electrical signals providing color information, the camera being positioned with respect to the sample to receive at least a portion of any light reflected by the sample; and a signal processor, coupled to the camera, for processing electrical signals produced by the camera to obtain the color information about the sample embedded in the signals.
