The invention relates to a device for hot-dip coating a metal strand (), especially a steel strip, in which the metal strand () is vertically guided through a container () accommodating the molten coating metal () and through a guide channel () disposed upstream thereof. The inventive device comprises at least two inductors () disposed at both sides of the metal strand () in the area of the guide channel () that are used to generate an electromagnetic field for retaining the coating metal () in the container (), and at least one sensor (') for detecting the position (s) of the metal strand () in the area of the guide channel (). In order to simplify and render more precise the detection of the position of the metal strand in the guide channel, the sensor for detecting the position of the metal strand () consists of two coils (&#x2032;) that are disposed, when seen from the direction of conveyance (R) of the metal strand (), within the height (H) of the inductors () between the inductors () and the metal strand (). The invention further relates to a method for hot-dip coating a metal strand.

Method and device for hot-dip coating a metal strand

The invention relates to a continuous casting mold, in particular a thin slab mold in which the flow of a liquid metal in the mold is influenced by a magnetic field generated by permanent magnets, wherein the permanent magnets have, over the width and/or height thereof, different magnetic strengths or are spaced from each other by different distances for a different field strength, so that to provide for variation of the magnetic field strength, the permanent magnets are differently adjusted in groups for changing a field strength distribution.

The invention relates to a method for hot-dip coating a metal strand (), especially a steel strip, according to which the metal strand () is vertically guided through a container () accommodating the molten coating metal () and through a guide channel () disposed upstream thereof. The invention relates to a device for hot dip coating a metal bar (), especially a steel strip, in which the metal bar () is directed vertically through a container () accommodating the molten coating metal () and through a guide channel () mounted upstream thereof. The inventive device comprises at least two inductors () which are arranged on both sides of the metal bar () in the area of the guide channel () and generate an electromagnetic field for retaining the coating metal () inside the container (). In particular, a mains frequency of 50 Hz is intended.

Device for hot dip coating metal strands

The invention relates to a device for coating metal bars (), particularly steel strips, by hot dipping. At least some sections of the metal bar () are vertically guided through a container receiving the molten coating metal (), said metal bar () being guided by at least one roller () which runs on bearings. In order to increase the service life of the roller bearings, the roller, or at least the axis () thereof, penetrates the side walls () of the container () and is mounted outside the container ().

These correction coils are also arranged in succession in movement direction (X) of the metal strand (). In order to improve the efficiency of the control of the metal strip inside the guide channel, the invention provides that at least a portion of the correction coils (), when viewed in movement direction (X) of the metal strand (), are arranged so that they are offset with regard to one another perpendicular to movement direction (X) and perpendicular to direction (N) that is normal to the surface of the metal strand ().
