A hydraulic stabilizing device for vehicles having an actuator which can be acted on in opposite directions comprises a switching device, which is formed by a directional control valve, and, in series with the switching device, a switching apparatus, which is formed by two separate directional control valves which are connected in parallel and correspondingly have a blocking position and different pass-through positions.

In a method for influencing the roll behavior of a motor vehicle having at least one axle with wheels at opposite sides of the motor vehicle, vehicle body movements caused by transverse forces acting at the center of gravity are reduced in that for each vehicle axle wheel, a stabilizer with a hydraulic actuator generating a controllable force is provided and the stabilizer force is transmitted to the respective wheels and vehicle body for counteracting the vehicle body roll movements so as to improve the roll behavior of the vehicle with respect to accuracy and reaction speed.

Method for influencing the roll behavior of motor vehicles

A support bearing supporting a shock absorber piston rod at a vehicle frame part is disclosed which includes cup-shaped receptacles attached to both sides of the frame part. Elastic support elements are clamped into the receptacles between respective sides of the frame part and stops on a piston rod extending through the receptacles frame part and elastic support elements. To aid in centering the elastic support elements in the receptacles, ribs are provided on one of the elastic elements and the receptacles side walls, such that no other centering attachment of the elastic elements to the receptacles such as by vulcanization, is required.

A variable dashpot for motor vehicles. It comprises a vibration-suppressing piston-and-cylinder mechanism. The cylinder contains displacement fluid. The piston divides the cylinder into two displacement compartments. The piston has a piston rod attached to it. The piston is provided with pressure-dependent valves that vary the level of vibration suppression. The vibration-suppression valve system has two vibration-suppressing valves (2) accommodated in alignment in a cylindrical valve housing (1). Each vibration-suppressing valve consists of an axially displaced electromagnetic plunger (5 or 6) that operates in conjunction with at least one outlet (3 or 4) and of at least one pressure-sensitive valve (7 or 8) on stream parallel or in alignment with the plunger.
