Disclosed is an apparatus which has, among other things, a MEMS device with a first measurement arrangement for capturing a measurement variable (X) based on a physical variable, which has a useful variable component (N) and a first disturbance variable component (Z), and a second measurement arrangement for capturing a second disturbance variable component (Z). The apparatus furthermore has a disturbance compensation circuit which is configured to combine the second disturbance variable component (Z) and the measurement variable (X) with one another and to obtain a disturbance-compensated measurement variable (X). The MEMS device is arranged in a housing, wherein the MEMS device is in immediate mechanical contact with the housing by way of at least 50% of a MEMS device surface.

Embodiments provide a tire pressure measurement device, an integrated circuit, a printed circuit board, a method and a computer program to receive data. The tire pressure measurement device includes a first receiver configured to receive a low frequency signal using a first low frequency input of the first receiver, and a second input configured to receive a receive signal associated with a second receiver that is different from the first receiver. The tire pressure measurement device further includes a controller configured to control the first low frequency input of the first receiver and to couple the second input to the first low frequency input of the first receiver in order for the first receiver to receive the receive signal at the first low frequency input.

A limiting amplifier includes a multiplicity of cascaded amplifier stages for amplifying an input signal for the amplifier. A further amplifier stage is supplied with a reference signal. On the basis of an output signal from the further amplifier stage, a control signal for adjusting a gain of at least one of the cascaded amplifier stages is produced.

A position identification system and method include a receiver configured to receive an initiation signal and attenuate the initiation signal until the initiation signal is within a first predetermined range of a reference signal. A controller identifies the position of the receiver in response to the attenuation.

A method of detecting a carrier signal includes generating a first signal that represents a strength of a received signal. A variable threshold signal is generated based on the first signal. A fixed threshold signal is generated. The method includes detecting whether a carrier signal is present in the received signal based on a comparison of the first signal with a sum of the variable threshold signal and the fixed threshold signal.

A tire position identification system and method include a transmitter that is configured to send an initiation signal. A receiver is configured to receive the initiation signal and attenuate the initiation signal until the initiation signal is within a first predetermined range of a reference signal. A controller identifies the position of a tire in response to the attenuation. In some embodiments, the reference signal is adjusted until the attenuated initiation signal is within a second predetermined range of the adjusted reference signal, and the position of the tire is identified further in response to the amount of adjustment of the reference signal.
