Weight responsive scale

A weighing scale is provided in which a horizontally disposed weighing platform contains a weighing scale dial on a side of said platform so that it can be read both from directly above and from the side, and means for transmitting weight response from a weighing mechanism mounted beneath said platform to said dial.

Weighing scale

In an apparatus comprising strain gauges mounted on a cantilever beam to measure elongation due to bending under load, the invention provides means in combination with said cantilever beam whereby a load can be applied to said beam so that the strain is directly proportional to the effective length of the beam and errors in measurement which have been incurred by other methods employed in applying the load to the beam are avoided.

A simplified height measuring device useful for measuring the height of persons is provided having telescopically arranged measuring rods with faces containing parallel vertical columns of different types of height measuring units such as English height measuring units, on the one hand, for example, inches, and metric height measuring units on the other, for example, centimeters.

A platform type weighing scale is provided having a horizontally disposed base, a vertically disposed column mounted on an extension of said base with a hollow base portion in said column and a load beam mounted in said hollow base portion connected through a lever to a weighing mechanism beneath said platform, said load beam having one or more electrical strain gauges mounted thereon which are connected to a read-out meter mounted on said column to show measurements in units of weight. The housing for the read-out meter is preferably adapted to rotate horizontally or to tilt from the vertical or both and can also be removed so as to provide a number of options including a high level scale, a waist high personal scale, or a desk top or wall mounted remote unit.

Digital electronic scale

A height measuring device useful for measuring the height of persons is provided having telescopically arranged measuring rods with faces containing parallel vertical columns of different types of height measuring units such as English height measuring units on the one hand, and metric height measuring units on the other.

A beam weighing scale is provided wherein the index bars of the beam are rotatable so that different types of weight units can be displayed such as ounces and pounds, on the one hand, or grams and kilograms, on the other, or different values of the same weight units, for example, 0.1 pound and 0.25 pound. The sensitivity can also be altered by varying the center of gravity of the index bar and poise assembly.

A weighing scale especially adapted for use as a pediatric or infant scale having a mechanical leverage weighing structure with a high degree of sensitivity and low friction and hysteresis coupled with a compatible electronic measuring system and a digital read-out system is provided wherein a base has a weight responsive movable platform mounted thereon, a housing mounted on the base behind the platform, said housing forming an enclosure extending upwardly substantially higher than the platform with weighing mechanism inside the housing connected through an opening in the base to the platform, the weighing mechanism including a variable inductance transducer which generates a signal in response to weight on the platform and a read-out unit mounted on the top of the housing, said read-out unit displaying weight measurements and being operable in response to said signal.

Electronic weighing scale

A weighing scale is provided having a number of features including a folding column or pillar, a new type of weighing mechanism, a new type of beam scale, and a new type of knob assembly for weight indicating means for a beam scale, all arranged in a compact form which is completely portable and adapted for packing, shipping and storage.
