A process for the preparation of a toner by mixing a colorant, a latex, optionally a wax and a polyamine salt coagulant to form toner size aggregates, wherein the polyamine salt is then neutralized or converted to an amide or hydrolyzed to an acid by the introduction of a base followed by a pH reduction with an acid to enable rapid coalescence or fusion of the aggregates.

Toner coagulant processes

A toner process including, for example, mixing a latex with a colorant wherein the latex contains resin and an ionic surfactant, and the colorant contains a surfactant and a colorant; adding a polyaluminum chloride; affecting aggregation by heating; adding a chelating component and a base wherein the base increases the pH of the formed aggregates; heating the resulting mixture to accomplish coalescence; and isolating the toner.

A process involving, for example, providing or generating an emulsion latex comprised of sodio sulfonated polyester resin particles by adding with shearing to the latex a colorant dispersion comprising from about 20 to about 50 percent of a predispersed colorant in water, followed by the addition of an organic or an inorganic acid; heating the resulting mixture at a temperature of from about 45&deg; C. to about 65&deg; C. followed by the addition of an water insoluble metal salt or water insoluble metal oxide thereby releasing metal ions and permitting aggregation and coalescence, resulting in toner particles; and optionally cooling the mixture and isolating the product.

Toner processes

A toner composition containing colorant and an alkali sulfonated polyester-amine resin composition generated, for example, from the reaction of an organic diol, an organic diacid, an alkali sulfonated diacid and an amino-organic diacid.

Toners with sulfonated polyester-amine resins

A process for the preparation of toner comprising mixing a colorant, a latex, and a polyamine followed by aggregation and coalescence, and wherein said process is accomplished in the presence of an oxidizing agent.

Disclosed is a transparency comprised of a supporting substrate, and thereover and thereunder two coatings, a first heat dissipating antistatic coating layer in contact with the substrate, and wherein the first coating contains a heat dissipating binder optionally with a melting point, for example, in the range of from about 100 to about 260&deg; C., and an antistatic compound and a second ink receiving coating layer thereover containing a blend of a binder polymer, an alkylated oxazoline, a lightfastness compound, and an optional biocide.

Polyelectrolyte toner processes

A toner comprised of a core comprised a first resin and colorant, and thereover a shell comprised of a second resin and wherein said first resin is an ion complexed sulfonated polyester resin, and said second resin is a transition metal ion complex sulfonated polyester resin.

Toner composition and process thereof

A process comprising (1) polymerizing an organic phase of monomer in the presence of a carboxylic acid, an oil soluble chain transfer agent, and a partially water soluble chain transfer agent; and which polymerizing is accomplished in the presence of (2) an aqueous phase containing a nonionic surfactant, and an anionic surfactant, and wherein there is added to the aqueous phase an aqueous initiator solution of an inorganic persulfate, and wherein the resulting latex contains particles of polymer with carboxylic acid; aggregating said latex particles with colorant; thereafter adding an effective amount of anionic surfactant and heating the mixture resulting about equal to, or about above the polymer Tg resulting from said monomer, or said monomers.

A toner composition comprised of a pigment, and a linear polyester resin of the formula ##STR1## where R' is independently selected from the group consisting of phenylene, cyclohexylene, and alkylene with from 4 to about 24 carbon atoms, where R is an oxyalkylene group of the formula ##STR2## where R' is independently selected from the group hydrogen and hydrocarbon substituents with from 1 to about 24 carbon atoms, n is an integer from about 2 to about 10,000, and m is an integer from about 2 to about 10,000.
