Hinge system of a hood of a vehicle

A hinge assembly for securing a flap to a vehicle body includes a first hinge part which can be moved between a closed position and an open position for securing to a vehicle body, a second hinge part which can be moved between a closed position and an open position for securing the flap to be mounted relative to the vehicle body, and a deployment securing device for locking the second hinge part relative to the first hinge part. The deployment securing device has a first securing part which is paired with the first hinge part, a second securing part which is paired with the second hinge part, and a locking element and is configured such that the locking element is coupled to the first securing part in the closed position and is locked by the second securing part in a first locking position. The second securing part unlocks the locking element in the course of the movement of the second securing part from the closed position into the open position and thereby releases the locking element. The deployment securing device is configured such that after the locking element is unlocked in the first locking position, the locking element is moved into a second locking position in which the locking element produces a coupling between the first securing part and a third securing part paired with the first hinge part and locks the first securing part and the third securing part in the open position.

Hinge assembly

A pedestrian safety device for a motor vehicle includes an inflatable airbag that has a volume portion and a gas inlet channel connected with the volume portion. The volume portion is adapted in such a manner that in the inflated state, it extends over a windshield of the motor vehicle. The pedestrian safety device is configured in such a manner that the inflated volume portion is displaceable in an impact direction in the event of an impact of a person on the inflated volume portion.

Pedestrian safety device for a motor vehicle

A safety device for a motor vehicle includes an inflatable airbag which is adjusted so as to extend across at least a bottom portion of an outer side of a windshield of the motor vehicle in an inflated state in order to protect a person impacting the motor vehicle. The safety device has a gas generator for inflating the airbag. The airbag has a first compartment and a second compartment. The first compartment and the second compartment are disposed such that at a specific vehicle speed or within a specific vehicle speed range, a shorter person would very likely hit the first compartment, while at the specific vehicle speed or within the specific vehicle speed range, a taller person would very likely hit the second compartment.

Safety device for a motor vehicle

A motor vehicle having a safety device for protecting pedestrians or bicyclists that collide with the motor vehicle includes an airbag which, in the non-activated basic state, is arranged folded together on an automotive body and, in the activated deployed state, at least partially covers a frame around the windshield. In the activated state, the airbag stretches out a windshield cover in front of the windshield. The cover has a region in which a plurality of energy dissipators are distributed on the side of the cover facing the windshield. During an impact with a person's head, the region is pressed against the windshield. The energy dissipators cause prior damage to the windshield, such that the rigidity of the windshield in this region is reduced. The windshield thus yields upon impact of the head in the region.

Motor vehicle comprising a safety device

Vertically adjustable folding top compartment floor on a vehicle with a folding or convertible top, which floor is connected by way of foldable side walls with the vehicle body. Two side walls arranged on opposite side areas of the convertible top compartment floor are formed by two wall sections, respectively, which are swivellably connected about a hinge axis. One wall section is swivellable about a connection axis linked to the convertible top compartment floor, and the other wall section is swivellable about a supporting axis linked to the vehicle body.
