Active lens components are provided for transmitting to a corresponding photographic camera information from a photographic field lens which is transformed into electrical signals. These components transform the information into electrical signals, the properties of which are convertible. The signals are transmitted to an evaluating circuit in the camera either serially via a contacting device or according to a predetermined chronological sequence. The evaluation circuit is provided with means by which the original information is gained back from the signals. The signals resulting from the recovery are fed to display means and/or to control arrangements for additional camera functions. The contact for the transfer of information is also employed as a power supply contact.

Method and devices for transferring electrical signal information

Disclosed is an optical sensing system for use in focusing the objective of a reflex camera in which light from the exit pupil of the camera objective is projected onto a pair of spaced sensors such that each sensor receives light from a different portion of the exit pupil. Each sensor thus generates a signal which is a function of the light projected from its respective region of the exit pupil, the relative equality of which gives an indication of the correctness of the focus. This feature is achieved by positioning a fully reflecting projection mirror on the back side of a reflex mirror which is positioned behind the camera objective at an angle thereto and has a central region of partial reflectivity. The projection mirror projects the exit pupil of the objective onto an auxiliary plane, located above the reflecting surface of the reflecting mirror when the sensing system is in its normal viewing position, in which two auxiliary objectives are arranged side-by-side, each of which projects light from a different section of the exit pupil onto different sensors.

Optical sensing system for focusing a reflex camera

Four-member gauss objective

The invention provides a peripheral vision horizon device for use in projecting a light bar on the interior of an aircraft cockpit or the like to indicate pitch and roll, the light bar being located with reference to a datum in the cockpit. The device includes a housing having a first part attachable to the cockpit and a second part rotatably coupled to the first part for movement about a first axis which on assembly in the aircraft extends transversely of the cockpit. A lens carrier is rotatably coupled to the second part for rotation about a second axis which is at right angles to the first axis. A light source is contained in the housing and an optical system is coupled to the housing for directing light from the light source towards the lens carrier along the second axis. A lens of two-fold symmetry is mounted in the lens carrier transversely of the second axis for receiving said light and projecting a beam of light which strikes the interior of the cockpit to create the light bar. Control means are also coupled to the housing, the control means being operable to move the second part about the first axis to indicate pitch and to move the lens carrier about the second axis to indicate roll. Consequently, deviation of the position of the light bar from the datum will indicate the orientation of the aircraft relative to a horizontal plane containing the light bar.

Peripheral vision horizon device

Apparatus for the photoelectrical determination of the position of at least one focusing plane of an image comprising an imaging optics, at least one spatial frequency filter in the form of a structure or grating mounted in the vicinity of one image plane of said imaging optics, a photoelectric receiver system associated with the filter containing at least one detector and receiving light fluxes leaving this filter, at least one means for generating a relative motion between the structure or grating and the object image, and means for analyzing the output signals from the photoelectric receiver system for distance display and/or focusing of the apparatus. The apparatus is improved by having the imaging optics (10) preceded by wo rhombic prisms (19, 20) so that each pupil half obtains its light through one of the two prisms. A reference beam is provided to show and/or eliminate mechanical changes in the apparatus effecting faultiness of the measuring result.

An improved photographic still pocket camera, where the film is inserted in a cassette provided with a feed part or spool and a take-up part or spool, these parts or spools connected by a film guide ledge. A zoom lens is mounted inside the camera, with the picture-taking beam path of the zoom lens located essentially parallel to the film plane and hence transverse to the direction of picture taking. The movable lens elements of the zoom lens are also movable parallel to the film plane.
