A warewasher for washing wares includes a housing defining an internal space with at least one spray zone for washing wares. A liquid delivery system provides a spray of liquid within the spray zone. A tank includes an inlet that is connected to a hot water source for filling the tank with hot water. The liquid delivery system receives water from the tank. An exhaust vents heated air from the housing. A final rinse system is connected to a cold water source. A heat recovery system is located between the final rinse system and the cold water source. The heat recovery system transfers heat from the exhaust air to the cold water provided from the cold water source. A valve associated with the hot water source selectively supplements the water exiting the heat recovery system with hot water from the hot water source.

A joint for forming a seal between a warewasher and the bottom of a generally rectangular, vertically movable door housed in the warewasher to inhibit release of moisture into the ambient atmosphere. The door has an outer face and is shaped to cover a generally rectangular opening in the warewasher. The joint includes a sill located along the bottom edge of the opening having a downwardly angled surface to retain moisture in the warewasher and an upper assembly located along the lower edge of the outer face including a handle shaped to mate with the sill. The upper assembly further includes a downwardly extending saddle shaped to cover the interface between the handle and the sill to facilitate the retention of moisture in the warewasher.

The invention is a corner unloader for a warewasher. The corner unloader includes a frame defining a corner having an inlet end and a discharge end; a pivoting carriage mounted within the frame; the carriage comprising at least two spokes and a bracket interconnecting the spokes; a plurality of pusher elements pivotally mounted to the bracket; a drive arm for providing motion to and driving the carriage; such that retraction of the drive arm causes the carriage to rotate in a counterclockwise direction and causes pusher elements to advance any racks received on the carriage from the inlet end in a direction toward the discharge end of the unloader and extension of theorize arm causes the carriage to rotate in a clockwise direction and the pusher elements pivot under the racks, whereby repeatedly extending and retracting of the carriage pushes racks through the unloader from the inlet end to the discharge end.
