Aseptic connector which has a body, an axially extending opening in the body, a seat surrounding the opening for receiving the connecting flange of a fitting, and a clamp for pressing the flange into the seat. The seat has a radially extending sealing surface with an annular outer portion and a conically inclined inner lip that extends inwardly and upwardly from the annular portion toward the opening.

Aseptic sampling valve having a valve body with a generally cylindrical side wall and a relatively thin, generally planar end wall, an inlet opening in the end wall, a valve seat surrounding the inlet opening, a port opening through the side wall and extending toward the inlet opening at an acute angle relative to the axis of the valve body, and a valve member movable axially within the valve body between open and closed positions relative to the valve seat for controlling communication between the inlet opening and the port.

Aseptic sampling valve

An inline process valve assembly having a valve body of a rigid material having a thru bore which is circular in cross-section forming a flow passage extending through the valve body along a longitudinal axis and having a lower arcuate surface. A cone-shaped recess is formed in the body and has a central vertical axis extending perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. The cone-shaped recess opens into the flow passage and has an hemispherical rounded nose which is generally coincident with the lower arcuate surface of the flow passage. A cone-shaped diaphragm of a flexible material disposed in said cone-shaped recess and is movable between open and closed positions with respect to the flow passage. The diaphragm has an outer margin. A clamp is provided for clamping the outer margin of the diaphragm to the valve body to form a liquid-tight and air-tight seal between the diaphragm and the body. An operator is secured to the diaphragm for moving the diaphragm between said open and closed positions.

Inline process valve assembly

A valve assembly comprising a main valve body having an inlet flow passage and at least one outlet flow passage and a flow chamber extending between the same. The main valve body has a valve seat surrounding the inlet flow passage. The valve body having an opening in alignment with the inlet in the inlet flow passage. The valve body has an annular shoulder surrounding the opening. A diaphragm is disposed within the flow chamber and sealingly engages the shoulder and movable between open and closed positions with respect to the valve seat. A valve operator is mounted on the valve body for moving said diaphragm between the open and closed positions. The main valve body has a side wall and a side wall opening therein in communication with the flow chamber. The side wall has a side wall valve seat formed therein surrounding the side wall opening. A satellite body is mounted on the main valve body and has a satellite flow chamber therein in communication with the side wall opening and the flow chamber in the main valve body. A diaphragm is disposed in the satellite valve body and is movable between open and closed positions with respect to the side wall valve seat. A valve operator is carried by the satellite valve body for moving the diaphragm in the satellite flow chamber between open and closed positions with respect to the side wall seat.

In an aseptic valve construction, a valve body having an inlet flow passage and at least one outlet flow passage, said valve body having a valve seat surrounding the inlet flow passage, said body having an opening therein in alignment with the inlet passage and in communication with the inlet passage and with said at least one outlet passage, said body having a shoulder providing a shoulder seat surrounding said opening, an actuator sleeve adapted to be secured to said valve body, a shaft, means mounting said shaft in said sleeve to permit axial movement of said shaft in said sleeve, a diaphragm removably secured to said shaft, said diaphragm having a portion movable into engagement with the valve seat surrounding the inlet passage, diaphragm actuator means engaging said shaft for causing axial movement of said shaft for moving said diaphragm between open and closed positions with respect to said valve seat whereby in a closed position said diaphragm interrupts the flow of a liquid from the inlet passage through the outlet passage and in an open position permits the flow of liquid from the inlet passage to the outlet passage and means for preventing rotation of said diaphragm as said shaft is actuated to cause movement of said diaphragm between open and closed positions, said diaphragm having a portion engaging the shoulder seat which is retained in engagement with the shoulder seat during movement of the diaphragm between open and closed positions.

Aseptic valve construction

A multi-stage pressure regulating system including a pilot-governed main pressure reducing regulator, with one or more passive back pressure regulators arranged in tandem therewith. The regulators are valves of the type conditioned to open when the upstream pressure therein overcomes a jacket pressure. The jacket in the main valve is loaded by upstream fluid, but a pilot, which monitors a particular fluid flow characteristic, such as pressure, at a selected location in the pipeline, controls bleeding of the jacket as necessary to regulate flow through the main valve so as to maintain a predetermined value or level of the characteristic being monitored. Hence, flow through the main valve is controlled solely by the pilot device, but its discharge to the ultimate downstream level is through at least one auxiliary valve, the jacket of which is loaded with a pneumatic pressure at a suitable level, so that the pressure drop to the downstream level is in two or more stages.

Multi-stage pressure reducing system

A pipe flange with a heavy welding neck which is hot formed from a circular section of steel plate having a small co-axial hole in the center. The steel around the hole is shear-formed downward and outward by a tapered die plug which is forced through the small hole, forming an integral neck on the flange. A supporting ring die is radiused at its inner corner to form a suitable fillet radius at the junction of the neck with the flange proper. A suitable preforming or post-forming operation may be required to compensate for any deflection in the workpiece out of planar configuration.

Method of manufacturing a weld neck flange

An integral valve end closure and hub formed from a circular section of steel plate having a small coaxial hole in the center. The steel around the hole is swaged outward with a tapered die for initial forming of a hub and then, in a second swaging operation, the outer portion is swaged to substantially cylindrical configuration. The result is an end closure starting with a cylindrical hub at the pipeline connection, and then flaring outward almost to the inner diameter of the main body member to which the closure is attached, by bolting or welding.

Integral end closure and hub for valve body and method of forming same

An orifice fitting mechanism for pipeline flow measurement systems includes a fabricated body structure that is so fabricated that internal and external body plate connection welds may be effectively utilized in order that the body structure will have sufficient structural integrity to withstand the forces of high pressure service. Internal and external welding of the body plates is enhanced through the provision of internal hub rings that define portions of the internal through conduit structure of the body and also define a properly oriented transverse opening that effectively receives an orifice plate carrier assembly in sealed relation therein. The hub rings also provide for close positioning of pressure tap passages as desired for accurate flow measurement. A replaceable valve support mechanism is employed allowing the slide valve system of the orifice fitting to be field replaceable without requiring replacement of either of the upper or lower body sections.
