A gearbox including a gear and a gutter. The gear is rotatable about a rotational axis in a rotational direction. The gear has a radial direction and an axial direction, and the gear expels oil radially outward when the gear rotates. The gutter is positioned radially outward of the gear in the radial direction of the gear to collect oil expelled by the gear when the gear rotates. The gutter includes an axial surface, a plurality of radial surfaces including a first radial surface and a second radial surface, and at least one opening to allow the oil collected in the gutter to flow therethrough. Each of the first radial surface and the second radial surface is oriented in a direction intersecting the axial surface, and the at least one opening is formed on both the axial surface and one of the first radial surface and the second radial surface.

Oil scavenge system for a gearbox

A gearbox for a gas turbine engine. The gearbox including a rotor and a gutter. The oil system is configured to supply oil to the gearbox. The rotor is rotatable about a rotation axis. The rotor expels oil radially outward when the rotor rotates. The gutter is positioned radially outward of the rotor to collect oil expelled by the rotor when the rotor rotates. The gutter is positioned eccentrically with respect to the rotor.

Damping members for turbocharger assemblies, methods for providing turbocharger assemblies, and turbocharger assemblies are described herein. The damping members include bodies having shapes to fit between a recess extending into a rotor disk of a turbocharger and laterally protruding shoulders of platforms in neighboring blades of the turbocharger. The bodies dampen vibrations of the blades during rotation of the blades. The damping members may include a variety of shapes, such as a sheet, a wedge, a tapered pin, a cylindrical pin, a bent sheet, or another shape.

Dampers and a fuel delivery systems including such dampers are disclosed. The damper includes a first component and a dampening component. The first component is coupled to a first tubular element and includes a first extended hollow section. The dampening component is coupled to a second tubular element. The dampening component includes a first end portion including a plurality of slits. The first end portion is disposed within the first extended hollow section to frictionally couple the first end portion to the first extended hollow section.

A blind shear ram includes an upper carrier including an upper blade and a lower carrier including a lower blade. The upper carrier and the lower carrier are positionable in a first position in which the upper carrier and the lower carrier are spaced apart and a second position in which the upper carrier and the lower carrier seal a wellbore. The upper blade and the lower blade are configured to cut at least one pipe and at least one cable when the upper carrier and the lower carrier move between the first position and the second position. At least one of the upper blade and the lower blade includes a textured surface configured to induce friction between the at least one cable and the blade.

A journal bearing assembly includes a bearing housing, a plurality of bearing pads, and a plurality of bearing pad support assemblies. The bearing housing includes a radial outer wall. The plurality of bearing pads are mounted within the bearing housing, and include at least one of a gas permeable porous media and an array of gas delivery holes. The plurality of bearing pad support assemblies are radially interposed between the bearing pads and the radial outer wall. Each of the bearing pad support assemblies includes a spring assembly and a damper assembly.

A hermetically sealed damper assembly includes a sealed damper housing, a plunger, and a load transferring member coupled to the plunger. The sealed damper housing includes a body having a cavity and a resistive flow path defined therein. The cavity and resistive flow path are filled with a viscous fluid. The body includes a plurality of springs integrally formed therein. The plunger is disposed within the cavity, and separates the cavity into a first control volume and a second control volume. The resistive flow path provides fluid communication between the first and second control volumes. The plunger is coupled to the damper housing by the plurality of springs such that the springs provide a restorative force to the plunger. The load transferring member is configured to transmit mechanical loads to the plunger.

The rotating union for the X-ray target comprises a housing, a coolant-slinging device comprising a rotating shaft having an inner diameter and an outer diameter, a proximal end and a distal end, and a bore therein, one or more slingers coupled to a proximal end of the rotating shaft; a drain annulus coupled to the one or more slingers, wherein the one or more slingers are configured to direct a coolant to the drain annulus and the drain annulus is configured to direct the coolant through a primary coolant outlet; and a stationary tube having a first end and a second end, wherein at least a portion of the stationary tube is disposed within the bore of the rotating shaft.

A system for mitigating a gas load imposed upon a high vacuum chamber, thereby reducing the overall pressure, includes a device mounted onto a rotating gantry. The device has a first chamber enclosing a high vacuum and a first region in which anode bearings are positioned. A rotatable shaft has a first portion extending into the first chamber and a second portion extending into the first region. A ferrofluid seal is positioned about the rotatable shaft and positioned between the first portion and the second portion, the ferrofluid seal fluidically separating the first chamber from the first region. At least one pressure-reducing unit is fluidically connected to the first chamber.

The pressure transition chamber () has an associated middle fluid pressure that is between an internal fluid pressure of the vacuum chamber () and an external fluid pressure of said insert (&#x2033;).

An energy harvesting device, system and method are described. The energy harvester collects acoustic energy and transforms it into electrical energy for use by a sensor. The energy harvester utilizes a piezoelectric device, which may be encased, either wholly or partially, within an acoustic chamber. Alternatively, the piezoelectric device may be entirely exterior to the acoustic chamber, which acts to amplify the collected acoustic energy.
